  • I spent 5 minutes searching your site - can't find any ABN/ACN.
    Where is it ?

  • Thanks for pointing that omission out guys!

It's a bit more difficult to understand the operations of an online store as you can't physically see how they do things. We've tried to be as transparent as possible. Some companies portray they are Australian and have Australian operations, but aren't - we aren't one of those! So we do understand your concerns!

    Happy Shopping

Thanks for pointing that omission out guys!

No problem. So you will be adding your ABN/ACN to your site? This is a requirement for any Australian business selling online according to ASIC.

Now all you have to do is bring your domain registration in to line with the eligibility requirements. Good for you that those crazy guys at CrazyDomains didn't check your statement that you met the eligibility requirement for a .com.au domain.

I assume that your stock is here in Australia and so is delivered from Australia?

    • This is a requirement for any Australian business selling online according to ASIC.

      Sauce please.
I thought ASIC only deals with publicly listed companies? (i.e. ones on ASX?)

      • +2

ASIC deals with ALL corporations regardless of if they are public or private (as well as securities, investments and anything in that sort of area). But they don't generally have powers over partnerships or sole traders (I say generally because there are times that they may but I cbf writing an essay).

Source: the Corporations Act 2001 (the entire thing).

Not sure about the requirement to have ABN/ACN on websites though.

        • ASIC has many roles. Over sight of corporations is just of those roles. ASIC regulates sole traders and partnerships who are say financial planners or insurance agents, etc.

Maintaining the Australian Business Registration and Business names function too now rests with ASIC.

Depending on the issue (consumer protection or licensing issues) all Australian businesses would be subject to oversite by multiple agencies.

Although it would be good to know what is the regulatory requirement for reporting ABN on websites and invoices.

    • Not true. Not all businesses are companys from which ASIC has no governing over. ABN is only required on a transactional document i.e. a tax invoice

A3Australia - thanks again for your interest in our operations! We're not sure about the requirement to have the company details on the website itself, but we will look into it. We just don't want spam or other unsolicited hawkers approaching us for whatever reason - and feel that we have provided ample information. But we will definitely look into it ASAP. The domain name however is registered under the Company ACN (as it's a requirement by domain providers for ".com.au" domains) - CrazyDomains does check this properly and our SSL certificate from Norton also has strict requirements for companies to be registered and have a trading address and phone number in the country they purport to sell in :)

And yes - all our stock is in Australia and dispatched within 24 hours via express post (via Australia Post)!

CrazyDomains DO NOT check your eligibility. They rely on your honesty in stating that you are eligible.

You have falsely claimed to be eligible - you are not, as your business/company name and its trading name are not the same or close to the domain name.

Just add a trading name to your ACN/ABN that matches this domain name. Otherwise AUDA can revoke the registration.

I have to say there's some great prices on that site but you're selling yourself short on the RRP a little. SGH sells the Prada SP 54I for $410 or so not $279. You're not making yourself seem cheap enough.

Considering I just paid about $220 for some Pradas from the US, I would have bought from you if you'd posted about 2 weeks ago.

    • +1

Yes that should read "Normally" instead of "RRP". That's our normal price, which is already very low.

We just really wanted to put the deal up for Australia Day shoppers to enjoy the specials - we've been holding out for awhile now!

thanks for your comments :) We'd love to have you as a customer one day so you can see how quickly and efficiently we do things!

They are also not Raybans. You can go to a chemist/servo and get $10-20 cheap and crap sunnies this isn't exactly new.

I recently lost my oakleys on a plane and been wearing cheapies. They work but the clarity and quality just aren't the same as the better brands. If you want to cheap out at a minimum I'd buy cancer council ones.

      • -1

Nah, careful. These ones are polarised, hence ur invalid compare.

        X10 better than Raybans, XLOOP.

Saves the money, none of your 'beeswax'.

        • +3

except my point was they aren't Raybans so you're not comparing apples with apples. Nor are any reviews saying they are x10 better than raybans. If you want to buy them fine, but it's not a good or useful comparison for anyone actually wanting to buy the real thing vs a cheap chinese version of it.

        • Thanks SirFlibbled!

Daver, there are always alternatives to high-end products, whether they be tv's, mobile phones, washing machines etc. It all depends on why you are buying the product and what level of satisfaction you are seeking.

If the XLOOP sunglasses are your favourite, then we respect that. But if you haven't had a pair of designer sunglasses in the recent past, you might be pleasantly surprised!

    • Welcome to you sunglasses

As I read your market, I had come off disinterested. But in raising what is my own shades was not meant to project onto others what is the right pair; yeah, offering one alternative, which has worked really well.

Pleasantly I do find from your navigable webstore that the Ray ban\Aviators contain Polarised, so I'm happy to see that feature promoted in a low enough frame of cost.

However, given the forecast changes, were I sharing my 'designer' brand of option, this would have to be Lai Peng's 7202 aviator(Item number: 230850651624)— just a down to earth, practical indoor/outdoor light/dark-lens/photochromic choice. Two pairs all up: to balance flamboyance vs minimalism, but with allround invaluable features, ime.

The prices seem pretty close to amazon prices. I am getting a pair from amazon (expected to be delivered today) otherwise I would have purchased locally.

      Thank you!

Hey yfsunglasses, how come when you try to click Mens-> Raybans, it only comes up with 1 pair, not including aviators or wayfarers O_O
    http://yfsunglasses.com.au/mens-sunglasses.html?brand=103
I'd like to see some other RBs :)

    • Hi Cwongtech - the reason for that is the attributes weren't selected properly so they weren't appearing in Men's sunglasses. We are fixing that now - but all of the Ray-Ban sunglasses are unisex except for the RB 4171 - which are just for women :)

So if you wanted to browse - you can safely do so through this link also (for the time being): http://yfsunglasses.com.au/brands/ray-ban.html.

We'll let you know when everything is updated! Thanks for pointing that out - much appreciated :)

  • Loving my raybans! took a couple of days to deliver due to the public holidays tho!
