How do I Turn Off the Timer on a De'Longhi Electric Oil Column Heater (Radia S 1500W)?

How do I turn off the Timer on a De'Longhi Electric Oil Column HeaterRadia S 1500W?

When on it sounds like someone is reeling in something on a fishing reel - this noisy thing?

Is it possible to have that stupid timer completely off while still making heat?

i am not sure if you are aware, there is this thing called the internet (great invention). You need a search engine to use the internet. Get something call Google Chrome and try and type in the model number and tell it you want a manual once Google Chrome is installed. Let me know how you go.

Bane of my existence. In the last ~3 years people have legitimately forgotten they can find out these answers a lot quicker with a little problem solving, i.e., actually going through results on a search engine until you find your desired outcome.

The number of times a day at work that people ask me questions and clearly expect me to be their search engine is terrifying. People have gotten stuck in a path of least resistance as opposed to a path of quickest correct outcome.

Gone are the days where lmgtfy was a once a month funny, now it’s a once an hour horror story.

      • You won't have to suffer much longer.

I reckon in a year or so most people will have learned to voice-chat stuff like this with ChatGPT and its ilk.

So then you'll only have have people coming to you with questions when AI feeds them some nonsense and they need a correct answer ;)

        • But that’s the thing, they won’t be because they currently ask me via Teams messages, so they could already be using AI or searches - both also involve just typing text in and waiting for an answer.

when AI feeds them some nonsense and they need a correct answer

          So… all the time still?

        • Idk man, that sounds like a different nightmare

          • @FireRunner: it will be, for sure. I fear it's going to be difficult for even the jjjaars of the world to distinguish fact from fiction when it comes to search results.

    • Pro tip - get the browser called Firefox instead of Google Chrome.

    Hi rabbit1234567,

  • if you can't find it in the user manual (or be bothered) in these kinds of situations ai is your friend. just remember to tell it the model number and it should tell you how.

oh mb didn't read post. 😂 yeah it's a old clicking timer my dryer has the same thing. it clicks the whole time it is on, not a problem with a noisy dryer but sounds like you can hear it on the oil heater.

  • I wonder if ai will look to places like this to learn. I wonder if it will look to these responses and start to mimic human replies to questions like this with eye roll emojis or smart ass answers. I hope it does.

    • Probably will give up … after all AI is supposed to imply some level of intelligence.

    • We're gonna end up with jvAI.

Mmmmm … if we were overseas I'll say to ask grandma or grandpa to rewire and bypass the timer completely.

In Australia I'll say only a fully PhD'ed experienced licensed electrician could do it …if they would/could at all.
And it will co$t a lot.

    • Which OS country do your GP live in that would allow them to play electrician?

      • Those hypothetical grandparents live in a place of common sense, intelligence, skills and logic.
Probably most of the planet earth

No, it is not Australia where irrational fear for electricity (and gas) is genetic.

        • Then I would argue, I'd argue the lions share of those grand-kids of those grandparents would fry themselves, even if you spelled it out, step by step.
