This is a remainder edition from a bookshop (Basement Books, near Central Station in Sydney) that only sells remainders. I was in there today and there were stacks of copies, all in pristine condition.
The television show for this series is currently running on Foxtel, and this is a great if you or someone you know is a fan. It costs $20 delivered from Amazon UK and $24 from Book Depository.

This place is great. I think its the same shop that used to be near Wynyard a couple of decades ago. What a find! Thanks. (Or maybe not ;)since I think I've found heaps more to spend $$$ on). This book is currently in the main stores (Big W) for heaps more than this.
What is a remainder edition? Is it like when its overstocked / book store has too many so sells it off on cheap to another store that only sells cheap books?
Remainder books are those left over at the publisher's at the end of the edition (or perhaps when certain rights expire). They sell them off cheaply to bookstores that specialise in remainders (QBD etc) so the books sell in those stores for a fraction of the RRP. Often these are well under cost price simply so the publisher can dispose of them quickly to move onto other publications. Sometimes remainder books are distributed to other countries, so occasionally you can find books that are UK editions for example, in Australian remainder bookshops. Hope this explanation helps.
