$900 – another mate, insurance claim and doesnt want it.
Honesly, it's hard to choose. The Toshiba has a better video card & ram than Asua, clearly the Samsung is a winner but the Dell has impressive specs!
Any help to break it down for me?
:)
P.S> I spose I only want it for work/study/internet. If i even have time to game, id prob do it on the xbox!
:)
Personally, at first glance, I'd go the Dell.
But lets break it down. You say gaming is not a concern, so we don't need to worry about graphics cards, Intel HD 4000 will suffice. Also the difference between 1333MHz RAM and 1600 is very little (i believe) so dont worry about that either.
SSD Hard drives play a big role in performance. SSD/HDD hybrid/combo drives are better than straight HDD, but still nothing compared to straight SSD.
Only the Acer, the Samsung, and the Dell have straight SSD.
So straight away lets rule out the Toshiba and the ASUS zenbook. It's only got an i5 CPU, its only got 4GB RAM, and you're paying more for dedicated graphics.
Lets also rule out the Acer, coz although i like the 256GB SSD its only got a 2nd gen CPU and 4GB RAM.
This leaves the Dell and the Samsung. The Dell has 256GB SSD, and is packed into a very sleek 13" design, but has limited ports and only a 1366x768 resolution.
The samsung while only having the 128GB SSD, has a much nicer screen with 1600x900 and better connectivity. However it is a larger 15" screen
So while I still like the Dell, the Samsung makes more sense, unless u really need the extra hard drive space.
It comes down to your preferences as well. Do you care about screen resolution? Screen size? Do you care about the extra speed and performance given by SSD, or would you rather save money if ur on a budget? The samsung comes out on top in my books (I still like the dell lol), but they are all decent ultrabooks in their own right.
