Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a slim, low profile HTPC to use as a media server and gaming station for my living room (I have some controllers I'd like to use with the computer)
It must use a discreet graphics card and decent CPU

Building your own?
I haven't bought one (I'll probably be looking more seriously in about a year's time), but I put together a config that I would go for if I got one right now.
Silverstone ML03 slim HTPC case
Antec 450W Neo Eco 80+ Bronze
Asrock H77 Pro4-M
Intel Core i3 3220T
8GB RAM
120/128 GB SSD
Bluray burner
Leadtek GT640 2GB low profile
Approx $660.
Before people chip in with their 2c, I want to explain a couple of items:
- Core i3 3220T is a fair bit pricier than the normal 3220, but it's one of the only low voltage CPUs that Intel releases to the general market. If you're not too worried about the heat and noise, then you could always go for an i5 or something.
- Small SSD because I was going to network it up to the NAS - your needs may be different to mine.
- Went for the GT640 because its the best current range nvidia card in low profile. I know there are probably better AMD low profile cards for graphics, but I put nvidia in there solely because from what I have read, their 3D solution is better than AMD. So if anyone wants to say go AMD, I'm not going to take offence.
