Hubby was using the Beta version and received a 'this version has expired' notification this morning. I've done a search here to find the threads regarding upgrades, but after wading through pages and pages of search results have given up trying to find them.
What is the best price currently on offer for Windows 8 upgrade please? I don't care whether it's a download or disc.

I just bought it for like $40 from MS to download, it's crap, only got it because I updated my motherboard bios and Windows 7 says I'm not activated…

Given that it is already in use I don't think the review is required. You BIOS update problem suggests you didn't have a valid Win7 licence in the first place.
Smart guy…if I had not paid for Windows 7 why wouldnt I just download a loader to fix my problem instead of paying for Windows 8? I don't have any cracked software on my PC
The BIOS caused my devices to all reinstall and renamed the motherboard, it was a major update
Tt's easier to pay $40 than to try and complain about it to someone who cares…
If you have a key all you need to do is ring MS and they fix it in 5 minutes, which is actually easier.
I ran a service center some years back. Often i wouldnt even need to speak to someone, just enter the string of digits off the screen and type in the code given. If i did have to speak to someone all i had to do was say i upgraded the motherbaord and they gave me the code to enter. No big deal at all.

The upgrade loophole seems to still work… Some people get asked for a valid win7 code, others don't YMMV
