Unlimited Local Calls and Internet on Telstra Exchange

HI,

I have just moved to a telstra only exchange =[

what i am chasing is a internet bundle that has unlimited local calls and around 100gb download limit.

all i can really find is telstra, but their 100 bucks a month is a bit steep.

anyone know anything?

cheers

edit: i am on the baldivis wa exchange, which is classed as regional. im a bit peeved, as my bro in law has fibre, and he lives on the street behind me.

  • I can only get Telstra as well and i found Spintel to be quite competitive. $80/Month untimed local and national and unlimited internet. Or $70/Month if you don't need national calls.

Also they have a refer a friend program where we could get a few $$ each..that is if you decide to go with them.

  • A telstra only exchange?? Never heard of something like that, what's your exchange? Have you tried plugging in your number on TPG if you can get the service?

    • There's heaps of them.. Especially Rural

    • TPG just resell Telstra. Most exchanges are Optus and Telstra only, some city exchanges have some other DSLAMs in them and some don't even have Optus hardware.

      • I know TPG resells telstra, but didn't think they would mandate only telstra connections, thought it would be anti-competition or whatever it is.

        • I think you are misunderstanding the question being asked.

        • Explain.

  • -1

High i use spintel as well and have a telstra exchange, and use voip, yes I pay about $80 a month, but i do not think it is not unlimited, interested in knowing what you find.

  • I know it's getting late now but… Spin were always excellent for me, I'm with Exetel now who have also been very good. Netscape were very poor.

    • Netscape is a dead browser. :) I think you mean Netspace, which is part of iiNet now and works fine for me. Nothing to do with the OP's question though.

      • Hmm.

I respond to the question with the wrong answer which also involves an irrelevant product that's decades out of date.

Showing my age there in more ways than one. :/

  • Have you considered seeing if you can 'share' your brother-in-law's connection if he's not that far away? Set up a router on your side as a client and connect to his wifi, then have this router repeat his signal for your equipment? You'd probably need a decent antenna adding in place of the stock one and also try to get line if sight between your router and his (maybe get him a new router just for this too) but it's not hard. I've got mates that do this over in Spain between their properties (same situation as you - one guy can get ADSL, one guy can't). You'd need to make sure your router can act as a client (not normally possible in standard firmware but if you put something like DDWRT on them they can). Investing in a couple of routers and new antennas would pay for themselves after a couple of months. As for your phone calls, you could use VOIP.

Google would have all the info you need.
