For those of us with kids at school it is that time of year again. Time to pay through the nose for a bunch of stuff you wouldnt otherwise have any interest in. Normally schools, especially private schools have 'sweetheart' deals with local book suppliers who provide you an easy itemized service. Just pay them the required $$ and they will give you a bag with everything in it for your kid. Problem is that you'll be paying 30%+ a lot of the time for the stuff in the bag for the convenience of having somebody else gather it all together for you.
I guess most of the schools will probably all vary a bit on textbooks etc but if there are any general bargains to be had in terms of school stuff I'd be interested to know. I have just bought an expensive calculator off Amazon and in the past have used bookdepository and even eBay for schoolbooks. Obviously there is Big W for the pens/pencils/exercise books. Any good tips/bargains for the dreaded school book list?
