I used to bring a backpack (for a laptop) in addition to a carry-on baggage although Qantas website says only one carry-on luggage is allowed. However, I haven't travelled on Qantas for a couple of years and don't know if things have changed. Qantas is charging money for reserving seat now and I don't know if they will allow a backpack in addition to the carry-on bag or they will ask you to pay for the extra piece of baggage. Are there any recent Qantas flyers who can supply me for their flying experience in this regard.
Thanks in advance.
Btw, I am going to Hong Kong from Adelaide stopping over Melbourne.
Well the way I see it is that a backpack could be considered a handbag for guys (or girls). I usually have carry on and a tote bag stuffed with my handbag, dslr and ultra book and it's been alright so far. I hope in Asia tho they won't weight everything together as it will all be way over
