Planning to buy a phone & go with TPG?

My iPhone 3GS is getting very old. It doesn't support whatsapp anymore :(

I am currently with 3, and vodafone has just recently called me for an upgrade, they offered 40cap + 11 for iPhone 5.

So, I am planning on buying a phone within 350 - 450 and go with TPG - 17.99/mth

Do u guys have any suggestion on better deal? Or a better idea?

Alternative would be Vaya for low usage or if higher usage go for Kogan

You won't be able to get an iPhone 5 at such a budget — cheapest way to get it is on contract. The iPhone 4 sells for $400 ish for the 8GB version, which IMO not worth it due to the limited storage and outdated specifications.

What kind of phones are you after? Willing to switch to Android? Perhaps Windows 8?

    You could grab a LG Optimus 4x HD for $339 plus delivery. The price seems to have dropped from a couple of weeks ago, so this is a good price for a phone that supports all networks (it's quad band)
