  • Why obfuscate the URL ? http://www.dealchart.com.au/iPhone5-giveaway

You are not eligible to register that domain name. So you used CrazyDomains because they are about the only registrar that does not check when you lie to them.

    Domain Name: dealchart.com.au
    Last Modified: 07-May-2012 14:11:05 UTC
    Registrar Name: Crazy Domains

    Registrant: JASSU PTY LTD
    Registrant ID: ABN 24144024779
    Eligibility Type: Company

    Registrant Contact ID: R-003880441-SN
    Registrant Contact Name: Louise Yeung

Why didn't you just register dealchart as a Trading Name of JASSU PTY LTD ?

    • Huh? I thought the rule that requires a domain name to match the business name was relaxed years ago. Plus, it costs money to register a trading name.

shrug Not that I'm particularly interested in the comp. But your fury doesn't seem to be justified.

Only as far as using a domain name to make money goes.

One can easily and very cheaply add a trading name to a registered business name or company - ABN ACN.

Making a false statement in order to register an AU domain shows the character (lack of character) and honesty of the registrant.

        • Meh. I know for sure there's a flaw in your argument, but I have no desire to spend the effort defending these guys.

I am not arguing. I am pointing out a fact. The domain was registered by making a false statement.

This can be corrected by the registrant by adding a trading name to their ACN/ABN within 14 days - otherwise the domain can be withdrawn/cancelled by AUDA.

I have no desire to spend the effort defending these guys.

They are just a referral site, getting commissions from the 'deal' sites that make the offers.
