Were an Australian based company just starting out. We currently only offer shared hosting in Seattle but will expand to Australian services over the next few months. The reason for charging USD because these hosting plans are actually in the United States and easier to deal with the currency differences for purchasing servers and network bandwidth over there. Plus its not necessarily cheaper just go with a US based company and you might not get the same quality of service and support.
Err. Why is Layered Network Australia charges USD for hosting services? If I want to pay USD for a US based hosting, wouldn't it be cheaper if I just go to one of the US companies?
I know Spry.com is also in Seattle with their own DC there, and more attractive pricing too!
