Kinda tempted to plant a forest on a friends lawn tonight..

the sign should read - PLEASE TAKE ME… JUST TAKE ME!!

hmmm if you stole it would they bother chasing you for it???

  • +2

    Woah! Levitating boxes as well!

    • It's rooted to the shelf.

  • +11

Damn I paid $2 for this last week. Jumped too soon.

    • +6

When this happens, just think of the 3-R's

      Return -> Refund -> Re-Purchase.

      • -1

I tried that on some stuff with the Big W and they said they can only refund the now reduced price , even when I had the receipt,

Not because the price had reduced but because I genuinely didn't want the item and had never used it. Still in original packaging.

        • I don't think that is legal in NSW. I've never had that problem with Big W. I'd try another customer service person or ask for the manager. I believe returns have a 12 month timeframe as a limit for Big W. Perhaps someone can confirm this…?

        • I think I've even returned stuff to BigW after 12 months and without a reciept (still had tags though), they are generally very accomodating.

        • +2

          yeah…that's illegal

        • not illegal, change of mind returns are only a gesture of goodwill from stores, however this is against Big W policy. If you have a valid receipt you get the price you paid for it. If you don't have a receipt, you get whatever it scans up at

    • it may be 50C next week. I'd say keep waiting!

      • +3

wow - that's hot, but it can vary in temperature across this country…

  • +4

    that's 0.549 c per cm !!

    Reasonable value I guess.

I can understand why Kmart don't want to hold on stock like this, because basic Christmas trees change so much in fashion each year !!

    • +3

It'd be dead stock for 9-12 months when you could've sold possibly hundreds of items in the same space for hundreds of dollars of profit.

      • -1

        you're right I guess

        (hates being corrected)

        • +3

9-12 months? Ha! I'm pretty sure I saw Christmas stock start to show in August last year. That would mean it's due for July this year.

        • Hot cross buns were out on the shelves right after new years! Its ridiculous.

This deal would definitely feature in the "how to do Christmas OzBargain style" manual

    • +4

Yeah. An orthodox follower of the OzBargain faith holds all festivals 3 weeks after the traditional dates. Lest not he be overcharged.

      • +4

        Ozbargain kid at school

"No Santa can't deliver to the whole world in one night. My daddy says it takes 3 weeks before he gets as far as our house."

"Noooooo mince pies are for Easter, chocolate eggs are for Anzac Day."

    • How about, buy the tree and decorations before Christmas. Assemble and view for a couple of weeks to see if suitable. Return for refund after Christmas. Save the $1.

  • Too late. Its now back at 7.50 each

  • Oh no!!! I paid $2 at Erina yesterday!!

    • +1

Scrap that… Mine is fibre optic

  • +4

Kmart use paywave, use your ING for a 95 cent tree

  • with all the votes, are there any trees left?

    • There are, but at $7.50 each now.

      • okay. so I should make this as expired. thanks for the update.
