-it'll last forever, and then be replaced for free.

It will be replaced for free if it doesn't last forever?

    • but nothing lasts forever. :(

      • That's a good thing :)

      • I'm sorry, I can't be perfect

Check their repair/replacement policy. Beats any other brands hands down.
It will last you years, if it get's worn down to irrepairable, they'll replace it.

Store in title, remove the RRP price in the title just confusing.
Limited sizes. Only the two worst colours are 50% off, two other colours are 40% off.

Sounds like this deal is not for you then.

Just trying to help as you said it was your first deal post. And thanks for making the fix to the title. looks great now!
There's a reason those colours are the ones on sale! I am a true black is best guy so yep, I agree, will be skipping this one.

100% polyester. better off buying a sustainable material that won't wash into our waterways

Woolworths used to give them to me for free but now I pay $99.98 to wear a plastic bag.

    • +5

That's the Patagonia part though, they make the clothing from 100% recycled polyester. So in a perfect lifecycle the finally discarded version of this jumper should be turned back into another one?!?

      • +1

The problem is that the micro plastics rub off constantly, especially during a wash cycle. A miniscule amount from 1 jacket, but when there's billions of people wearing plastic every day, it adds up. It's one of the reasons I no longer eat seafood…

        • +2

Unfortunately not eating seafood won't really help avoid microplastics as they're in the things you drink and the soil food is grown in :(

      • +1

Thus supporting the manufacturing of more plastics to recycle

Let's just make sure 100% of it ends up in land fill or the ocean, then.

  • Ant good warm fleece one can recommend that looks good too ?

    • Looks good is subjective…..Pullover, 1/4 zip, full zip?
I have the Better Sweater from Patagonia. In black and it looks good.
Kathmandu have a number of good options.

      • 1/4 zip and ideally an outdoor brand on a budget…

          So want some water repellence?
I have found Mountain Designs brand sold locally through Anaconda to be quite good.
Haven't looked at their 1/4 zips though.

I can't see myself wearing this at all, it's sort of.. oddly neither casual nor smart casual, just strange

I'd be cautious of this particular fleece - love their products but this one shed like crazy for me, no matter how many times i put it through the wash/dryer… Got it exchanged for another one though (overseas too!)

  • 100% polyester so its practically a plastic bag

    • +2

…which means I'm wearing 18yo plastic bags from Patagonia, not bad

Staggering amount of angst on Patagonia, it is literally the only brand of clotting I own that I've never thrown any purchase out. The repair service down in Torquay is amazing, in a world of planned obsolescence and fast fashion - in my experience this stuff looks pretty good and outlasts anything else

They are basically a conservation fund now, too.

  • What's with the ugly as sin 90s colour schemes?
