Not a bad price for a potentially strong tea, but Lipton is the worst. Possibly worse than Bushells and as bad as Billy Tea.

Just checked and it's on the BDS list too. Alternatives rhat are decent are Nerada (7.15 for 200 at IGA) and the Coles brand, which I heard came second in the recent Choice magazine round up and that's around 2 bucks per hundred which is pretty good (and I believe the woolworths brand is the same). At rht price just double bag and your tea will be strong er and taste better IMO

It’s a really crap tea anyway, but wasn’t aware of the BDS info. Thank you, will avoid.

It's part of Unilever, which is a huge brand, and their treatment of Ben and Jerry's when then wanted to pull out of Israel was atrocious (they bought the B&J Brand in a contract to honour their policies to do no wrong and when the B&J board decided they needed to pull out, Unilever underhandedly overruled them by doing something like selling the division to people that wouldn't. Unsure if that's the exact story but something to the effect. You can look up videos of one of the B&J founders, he's pro peace and anti genocide).

Thank goodness for those real true genuine proper totally not actors and not affiliated with VicPol neo nasties in Melbourne or we might not have had any laws introduced and passed by Albo's ALP to enable this. /s

@jv: I don't think a Jewish guy named Ben Cohen is going to be racist against Jews, you couldn't think that unless you had choch chip cookie dough for brains

On the other hand, if you equate antisemitism to anti-Zionism, then I can see how you would be confused

I prefer Dilmah Extra Strength Tea Bags

    • +1

I used to swear by Dilmah ESTB until the strength halved suddenly . The pot strength wording vanished as did the flavour. I went from 2 teabags to 4 to get the same colour and intensity.
Yorkshire Proper Strong teabags for me,now. I can't reward a company for selling a lesser product at a premium price

      • I tried Yorkshire gold. Is the proper strong better?
I havnt had the dilmah in a little while. I just recently got some about a week before this post when it was on sale and agree its not the same as it was.

I just bought this product & don't notice any "extra strength"..

Shame you can only have this while camping.

Yorkshire or Yorkshire Proper Strong is the ONLY way to go

Why waste $3.90 when dirt is free?

    • You're supposed to add it to water. Not a cup of dirt.

  • How does it compare to Yorkshire strong tea?

    • Personal preference I suppose but I like this one better.

    • I think Yorkshire was the one I felt was too strong, or it had a strong edge to the taste (as opposed to strong caffeine wise). If you like strong tea and can get your hands on Barry's Tea (Ireland) that makes a strong smooth cuppa

      • its available in coles and woolies online. Its close to double the price of yorkshire. Is it worth the extra?

        • It's not my cup of tea to be honest, so for me it's not, but for others maybe. I wouldn't think it's cheap at all

          • @Jackson: i was referring to barry's tea which I thought you were saying you preferred as it was a strong smooth cuppa? do you drink barrys tea often?

  • +1

learned years ago that twinings are better

  • Barry's tea ftw
