Enjoy!

It's not showing up for myself, so it's either targeted or they're staggering the distribution of the email.

    • +1

My parents didn’t receive the email either but I asked them to enter the code that I received at checkout and it discounted 2 standard tickets to $0

      • What was the code please

        • I want to use the code for myself and hoping that another OzBargain member can confirm if they have received the same code first before I release it

          • +1

            @BargainsGrabber:

if they have received the same code first

Post the code here and I'll check for you.

  • Excellent! There are finally some good movies out, so hopefully can get a couple out of this :)

    • There are finally some good movies out

      Like what?

      • +3

yeah I looked at them all and realised why I haven't been to the movies for at least 5 years..

      • Warfare was pretty good

      • Sinners and Warfare are the ones I'm excited for, and some interesting releases over the next few weeks.

  • Targeted

  • +3

I received and used Easter257189 over the weekend.

    • +4

Same code then - thanks for your confirmation!

    • +1

      @BargainsGrabber Thank you 😊🙏

    • Same, got this but haven't used it yet.

  • I wanted to use this on Friday (anzac day) but all the melbourne theatres seem to be only showing star wars on that day, unfortunately.

  • -2

Not much choice of movies it seems and can’t go too far ahead in their site to book, meh I decided to kill time Friday with the accountant 2….not expecting much

    • +3

What do you mean? Sinners? Warfare? Thunderbolts?

      • -1

Thunderbolts was as far ahead as I could go to find a movie (May 1), but honestly I’m not going to the cinema for the rubbish Disney has been churning out lately, I did want to try and book for mission impossible or one of the big releases later in the year but can’t go that far ahead by the looks, everything looked like I’d rather see it at home

  • I’m getting an error, anyone else?

Edit: I worked it out, no good for Friday I had to book Saturday.

    • +4

      I’m getting an error

      user name checks out…

      • +1

        😂
That’s my actual name (shortened) which makes that even funnier 😂

        • Are you Ernie Bugger from primary school ???

          • @jv: 😂 Nope not me haha

  • +1

(profanity) I accidentally booked for a wrong time, can you change it?

    • +1

      isn't it just a voucher ?

    • +2

I think the email will contain vouchers which you can use to book any session

    • Same. Didn’t expect it to complete the checkout as soon as I pasted the code.

      • +1

Yeh, the above two commenters are correct, it's a voucher can be used till the end of the year.

        • Yeah looks like you’re right. Mine actually say they expire on 31/5/28.

    • I have selected the wrong cinema, i am wondering can i change it?

  • +1

Thanks got 2. Wasn’t targeted. Generic vouchers emailed. Can book any session. Win!!

    • how do you buy generic vouchers? the website seems to ask to select a movie or cinema first?

      • +1

Select any movie, input the code, then you’ll get an email with two vouchers to redeem for that movie (or any other movie)

        • Is that restricted to the cinema location or can you pick a different location in future?

          • +1

@trixieb: Same chain different location is fine.

            • @truetypezk: Thanks. I haven't redeemed from Origin before. Is the voucher generic and can it be passed to someone else?

              • +1

@trixieb: Yes they are just generic unrestricted vouchers, at least for the 3 major cinema chains. Not sure about the smaller/independent ones though.

Just got the tickets, not expiring until Dec although i selected tonight’s tickets 😃

    • -2

      They are vouchers not tickets…

    • For me, expiry date is 30 June 2026

The website is so painfully slow.

    • +2

      It's excruciatingly slow

  • +1

  • -1

how about cheaper energy? this is like a dominos pizza party for 30 years employee retirement

  • +3

Make sure you select a weekend session. I picked one for tomorrow and ended up with restricted mon-Thurs tickets

  • Something Went Wrong

    • Yeah it crashes a few times try refreshing and you should get in eventually

    super dead now

    • I haven’t even book the tix for me and my partner :(

  • we killed it :-(

  • Maybe a stupid question, do you have to be with Origin to redeem?

    • You will need a working origin account but you don't have to be with them now. Should be able to redeem if you had a service with them in the past year or so.

      • Thanks, nah I’m not with them. They’re usually more expensive from what I’ve seen!

        • They’re usually more expensive from what I’ve seen!

In my area, they are the cheapest

  • There is a fee to book the actual movie you want to watch.

    Book online and select seats:

    • Click the ‘Select your seat’ button below (this will take you to your chosen session)
    • Select your seat/s
    • Select ‘Add a Voucher’ (enter your voucher number/s and PIN/s, attached below)
    • Follow the remaining instructions to complete your purchase (booking fees apply); the cinema will send your tickets directly to your email.

    • +3

If you use it at the kiosk there’s no fees

      • +2

Thank you, you just saved me $7.4

      • Do you mean doing it in person at the movie theater?

    • +1

It is interesting how Australians cinemas charge a booking fee for online bookings. Some of them even went to the length and offer an in-cinema code so you can booking online for free while physically at the cinema. It is just ridiculous. Most other countries Ive been to actually offers a discount for online bookings instead.

      • -1

It is interesting how Australians cinemas charge a booking fee for online bookings.

The fee is charged by the booking service, not the cinema….

You can always go to the cinema in advance and book your tickets there for no fee

  • +1

Thanks OP, I'm not an Origin customer but was able to get 2 vouchers

    • +1

How did you manage this?! I’m not a customer either but the page said I needed to login to “my origin” or something from the link

      • +1

I am sure he was a recent past origin customer. There is no way to create an account if you have not had an origin service at all.

        • That's correct, I used to have an internet service with them

    • iI tried to create an account but they never sent me the verification code to login. how did you get past that?

      • +1

The message in the section below says you will only get code to your email or mobile number registered against your account. So, you definitely need a current or past account.

  • "Promo code could not be found"

  • +2

Cheers OP, worked for me - seeing Cillian Murphy's new film Sunday night.

  • Thanks OP. Got 4 tickets from 2 closed accounts!!!

  • DONE. BOOKED MINECRAFT MOVIE. but they are only two vouchers. Does it mean we can book any other movie/session before the expiry date which is end of 2025?

    • Yep

    • Good choice. Minecraft movie is fun!

      • +1

Thanks for replying. I attempted to book tonight or another session which all worked out. So this is a universal vouchers redeemable to all sessions. But just might be some surcharge will apply to Vmax of Gold class ticket I guess. Good one!

        • +2

you can get Vmax vouchers for free if you select those.

          not Gold Class though.

          • @jv: I booked Hoyts Xtreme screen session. I only received the standard vouchers. There is definitely a surcharge when you actually book the Vmax or Xtremescreen sessions as the voucher issued are standard vouchers.

          • +1

@jv: Surprisingly, the code worked with Gold Class tickets. However, when i chose to select the seat, Event Cinemas charged me the booking fee of $6.70 for two adults. Still happy to pay $6.70 for two Gold Class tickets :D

      • +1

        Minecraft movie is fun!

Not when they stop the movie half way through because there are live chickens running around.

        • Are the kids still doing that? Wow…hahaha

          • @jollyrogga:

Are the kids still doing that?

At my session, it was all the adults

  • +1

I only got one voucher when applied the code. When tried to add two tickets, I was charged
Not sure if I can claim again though as the website is now dead
    But thanks OP

  • +1

For anyone that are not currently with Origin but a past customer, try loggging into your account to see if it's still active. I am a past customer and have always been able to redeem these offers.

  • +1

I'm a past customer but it is taking forever to search for a cinema.

    • -1

      I'm a past customer

So how are you communicating with the physical world?

  • I ended up receiving two tickets for a specific movie+showing time in my email instead of the two vouchers to redeem mentioned by some comments. Could it be based on the cinema company? (booked a Dendy cinema)

    • Could it be based on the cinema company?

      yes

  • Darn it, I was sure I selected Hoyts but somehow ended up with palace cinema tickets

  • +1

Damn it, no more tickets and I didn’t even book any for myself yet :’(

Sorry, there are not enough tickets available

    • Try another session, this error was coming up for me and I booked a different session and it worked.

    • Yeah I finally got it to load and getting the same message. Sucks that I'm actually an origin customer and couldn't get the deal.

      • I purposely removed the code from the deal so that as the OP, I wanted to get some for myself and my family but y’all bombarded it :’(
