Can anybody suggest a cheep phone to use to teather the internet to a laptop using a Live Connected sim?
I get 1.5gb per month on my Live Connected sim and I hardly use (less than 1gb/month) the internet connection I'm paying $40/month for so I figure buying a phone that is capable of teathering the internet from the sim to a laptop will soon pay for it's self.
What would the speed of the connection be like?
Anybody doing this?

I have had the samsung galaxy ace for 12 mths. bought it outright for$170.
have a prepaid NO contract that costs $39 a month Optus. i get unlimited call in australia to any mobile or landline and 3gig data per month
the phone connects to my old desktop via usb and i go on the net with it . also have netbook that i use when sitting in the lounge, it connects to the phone via wifi. GREAT and i can make and recieve calls while on the net !!!

Most 3G phones have internet tethering capability. It doesn't have to be an Android phone (Nokia phones do it too), but I picked out the ones that have at least 7.2 MBPS downlink speeds on HSDPA.
