    Cheapest car air freshener

Cheap? This was the cologne to have in the late 90's! It's a classic!

    • 100 percent if you haven't spritzed your balls with cool water were you even there!

Can highly recommend for a blind buy

I've always been curious about this one, so I put on three sprays at Chemist Warehouse the other day.

Didn't love it at first, and then found the performance lacklustre too.

Willing it to give it a second go with more sprays, but I didn't get a great first impression

Also, OzB pro tip: go to Chemist Warehouse and help yourself to a few sprays. The cheaper ones aren't kept in the glass cabinet so it's self service

    • go for this one, Parfum but at 100ml.

Did you mean to link to something?

        • +2

Don't think so, he told you to go for Parfum but at 100ml instead.

@pitufon: ahh, I got confused because I was googling cool water edp without results, not cool water parfum

the parfum does seem comparatively rare, but I note it's on Amazon. not willing to blind buy it though.

            • @beltdrive: There are a couple of Cool water Varients:
              EDT
              Parfum
              Intense.

EDT will have least concentration of oil out of all this.
Parfum will have more concentration but am not sure if the scent profile is same of altered.
Intense is definitely not same as Cool water but bit stronger and lasts decent hours (4-5 hours).

Didn't love it at first, and then found the performance lacklustre too.

Modern perfumes are like that. Very few of them have any real longevity/sillage, even EDPs for most mainstream fragrances are getting pretty weak now minus the very expensive, obscure fragrances you can find at places like Mecca.

It's largely due to the various environmental/health & safety/sustainability legislation that have been passed in Western countries in the past 3 decades, which means perfumes have undergone significant scrutiny from a toxicity/allergen/dermatological/respiratory/environmental impact perspective and their manufacturers have to comply with restrictions/limitations on the amount of various raw ingredients that can be added to them, to reduce the potential for them to cause irritation/reactions in broadest possible demographic as well as to reduce their environmental impacts. Notably, a lot of formerly animal-based ingredients in perfumes have been banned or strictly regulated so they've been replaced with plant-based alternatives which simply aren't as potent in a fragrance.

Secondly, the rampant cost-cutting (especially since Covid) has meant most fragrances are literally watered-down versions of what they used to be. Many of the flowers, spices, herbs, oils and aromatic ingredients that go into perfumes are quite expensive to source and can be in shorty supply, so perfume brands like every other manufacturer of consumer goods are trying to maximise profit at the expense of everything else these days hence why there has been a notable and well-reported trend of perfumes simply not smelling as strong or as good as they used to in decades past.

      • Very interesting insight. Thanks for sharing!

I'm hooked on Lattafa/Armaf/Afnan/French Avenue EDPs from UAE. The spillage and projection is crazy good on these. Highly rated on Fragrantica. There's no going back.

    • I wish I had listened to you, I blind bought mine and very disappointed. Everything you described about it, I agree with

  • How does this compare to Nautica Voyage Eau de Toilette??

    • I personally prefer nautica as I feel it's softer. Not sure how best to explain.

Can you go wrong with a blind buy at this price? Probably not. It's in no way offensive and can be worn in most situations if not all

      • Nautica doesn't last long though, max it last is 2hrs

        • +1

Hack: You could mix vaseline with it to make it last longer.

        • Very true. I've found if you spray on clothes as well as skin it lasts a little longer but no more than 3hrs of proper scent.

          • @Chocobros: I do 5 sprays

3 on my front side and 2 on my back nack side

    • I also want to know. Would love to hear more people's opinions

This is regularly $20-30 at chemist warehouse

    • +1

      That's the 125ml

    • +2

is this a pop culture reference to something? or continuously just commenting on fragrances like a total chad, we get it.

  • +2

    meh blind bought, yolo

  • -1

Got it for $32 last time on sale three months ago…

  • +1

I received mine and my first impression is I don't like it and disappointed, probably straight to the bin. To me it smells like toilet scent. I much prefer a refreshing scent like Nautica

A huge waste of $40, will not be blind buying anything over $40 again

    • It's a confused mess of chemicals

      • Disappointing, now I'm going to revenge spend my wasted $40
