Recommendations for a Beach Trolley

Each year I tell myself that this is the year that I make more use of the Port Phillip Bay beach near my home.

For some reason it's the beach trolley that stops me in my tracks. Which one and from where and at what price?

My situation:
Wife X 1
5 year old X 1

That's it. That's my whole situation.

Recommendations on a commensurate trolley would be gratefully received.

Thanks!

  • Been a while since I been to the beach but we had the Kmart beach cart and had a bit of a tough time once it’s loaded up , the tires just get bogged down .

  • Get a beach box, then you don't need a trolley.

Don’t go to the beach and save yourself a trolley.

Kerry Stokes-backed Beach Petroleum (ASX:BPT) has been a total dog of a stock

  • Coles or Woolies have heaps in the carparks

  • They suck in general. Get an esky backpack and some large bags. Heavier, but still effort than dragging a stupid cart through sand as if it weighs 100kg

  • I’ve got kids and we hit the beach every week or two.
I used the wide-wheel Tahwalhi cart from Rebel (now discontinued) for over 4 years—worked great until rust finally got to it and the arm broke off.
I replaced it with a Kmart wide-wheel one that looks almost identical but cost half the price. It's been a year and it's holding up fine.

Honestly, anything with wide wheels should do the job—they all feel a bit crap when overloaded on sand anyway. No need to overthink it.

  • Make sure it has wide wheels, otherwise it is just going to get bogged and/or tip over

  • I cant believe the price of some of these… they should be $30 tops… not 60+

load each one of those persons with something and bam… no trolley needed.

  • my recent boxing day self-gift is the Spotlight trolley, $55 with $5 voucher = $50. Wide wheel, loaded with 2 kids, beach tent, chair and stuff … no complain whatsoever

  • Appreciate everyone's contributions. I will checkout Kmart and Spotlight and suck up the bogged down feeling that appears inevitable.
