I wonder what his alternative solution is. My mates kids got huge relief in damp masks during the bushfires a few years ago.
They're not the perfect masks for that task, but it was what they had, and helped notably - enough was caught to discolour the mask.

  • Great for Halloween costumes… although your kid will be going as a doctor or nurse or zombie for the rest of their childhood.

Tip: poke holes in the masks so your kids don't get oxygen deprived.

Immune compromised individuals. Wish I didn't know the answer to this question.

Limiting aerosol output. Slightly lowering particulate intake.

Im surprised you live in a country with bushfires, and universal healthcare, but havent figured their use.

    • Virtue signalling.

I was on my way back from Perth on Wednesday and there was a masked dingus sitting in front of me to the left on the flight

The bit that made me laugh the most was when he ordered coffee and food, took off his mask, put it in the tray that pops out and then proceeded to touch it multiple times whilst eating and drinking before popping it back on 30 minutes later. The flight was full and he had two strangers next to him. The mask came off after he ordered and not as the food came to him

I turned to my son and said don't ever be that stupid.

I still see them occasionally. Half the time they're either not even wearing them correctly (nose hanging out the top) and the other half of the time they're at least 100 metres away from anyone else out in the fresh air and sunshine. The occassional lone driver (no passengers) with windows up and fully masked is still astonishing.

It was the psychological conditioning that everyone endured, especially in Victoria. Some people just will not ever recover from it unfortunately.
On the plus side though, you know will know what type of person you're dealing with if you ever face one in the wild.

Aerosol concentrations peak in a plane's cabin when the engines are off and the aircraft is on the ground. Once the engines start and the air conditioning and HEPA filters activate, they effectively remove aerosols, bringing the air quality closer to outdoor conditions. This makes it relatively safer to eat and drink, making it a reasonable behavior.

Not sure which one is worse: lack of basic STEM education or doing all these as parents.

I turned to my son and said don't ever be that stupid.
