Fruit Swirl Blueberry Yoghurt / Fruit Swirl Mango & Blood Orange Yoghurt 700g - $4.89 @ ALDI

340

Yummy yoghurt!! Have to admit I'm a fan. Same thing sells for $7.90 at Coles normally, under a different brand name, although it's on special there for $6.30 this week. Slightly in Coles' defence, they sell 8 varieties compared to just these 2 that are available at ALDI.

Edit: After a little research my understanding is that these have been selling for $5.79 RRP for a long time but have now been reduced to $4.99, and for a fortnight they are 'red tagged' at $4.89. A good and permanent reduction for a good product seems worth drawing a little attention to in these inflationary times.

Also, please resist flame wars over spelling.

Is this actually made by Gippsland Dairy? Or just a ripoff of their packaging style

Looking at it's ingredients list, they are virtually identical, which is usually the sign that this is probably made by the same company. There probably only a few large producers of Dairy products, so most of the time it's likely to be made by one of the major brands.

      • They look and taste exactly the same, other than the packaging sticker. Can't be more than one mass producer of Mango and Blood Orange twist yoghurt in Australia.

That's a lot of sugar for a yoghurt

    • If it's anything like the Grippsland one it's very sweet.

I blend with the greek style yoghurt from Aldi

Um… this is just RRP for an ALDI-branded food item?

      yep, OP must be bored

These try to mimic Gippsland but the texture isn’t quite there. Gippsland is far better.

Pretty sure this is the RRP?

  • The package looks quite similar to Gippsland…

Yes that's ALDI marketing strategy to mimic all popular brand package, their Hell-gas bread is awful.

Gippsland pfft not a fan of it. Primary ingredients. Skim milk concentrate, water.
Tastes like skim milk powder in water, made to yogurt in 8 hours, covered up by sugary berry sauce. Sent to the supermarkets.

Until you've had yogurt from a dairy. Fond memories Maleny dairy. Or travel O/S and get 12-15% milk. AU dairy products keep watering down and or raising the prices.
Even at 4% fat, you can taste their milk is superior. Web link. https://www.malenydairies.com/full-cream
