Agree. The only use I found for these things is to hold McFlurries.
I hold my McFlurry's in my hand :P
You're not always in the car with me.
Y did they stop stirring the mc flurries. Those were so good
Would agree with this. Even if you do get a snug fit (which will depend on the shape of your cupholders), the top section is too short/flimsy to handle heavy bottles - which is exactly what you would need the expandable holder for! It's stable enough for shorter/lighter items though, like takeaway coffee cups (even smaller/regular travel mugs are probably fine, though I havent tried).
We have some floor level cup holders in our car, and it has been handy to bring one of those cupholders (they are too close together to use two of these) to a more accessible height, for use with smaller items like coffee cups - so at least one of the two I bought has been useful! YMMV
Thanks, I'll hold off then
So they give it to you for $2 in the hope you can't be bothered getting a refund.
Kmart should be fined when they import waste products.
foam pads are heat resistant, for mopping up boiling coffee from your lap
If you put the heavy drinks on the bottom layer and the lighter one to the top layer it might work better. Or fix it to the cup holder with good quality double sided tape.
I got these from AliExpress for way more than $2 and fine them relatively useful. It's better than holding the 2nd or 3rd drink in your hand while driving :)
That was my intention when I bought one BUT the bottom layer is too small for any bottle with any significant weight that would be needed to counterbalance.
None of my many water bottles or reusuable coffee cups fitted which was disappointing. Also there is no expansion in the bottom to fit in your car other than some pads. The top isn't a twist expansion. Just a pull out the 3 individual sides which is pretty flimsy and could break easily.
This was an unfortunate waste of money even at $3.
If it's not tight, it's not right.

Thanks Op, will try them out.
Will give this $2 a try, thanks OP
avoid at all costs - so cheap & imbalanced design. Waste of plastic and money
Stay hydrated
water renal clearence is about 2 hours, though not necessarily you must drink every 2 hours
thank (profanity) i can stop setting an hourly alarm to drink water and get a full nights sleep finally
Does it fit for KFC buckets? And instant noodle bowls
Yep. The top section is much better suited to holding food than anything heavy. I use mine for holding fries all the time.
Free delivery with onepass, good deal but feels bad that some poor sod has to deliver this to my place.
it's good for the economy
Don't feel bad, they should feel bad for using couriersplease π
feels bad that some poor sod has to deliver this to my place
Why? The poor sod will be paid the same amount no matter what's inside the box.

Step 1: Swivel hot coffee so it is positioned above your crotch.
Step 2: Accelerate as fast as you can.Noob.
Learnt to drive watching Initial D solves that problem mateπI enjoyed that. We used to have a grey 1985 Toyota Celica that looked a lot like his car actually π
They call these things "cup holders" and yet people expect them to hold literal water tanks lol
Literally the second picture shows it holding a water bottle. None of the images show it holding a cup.
Given the adjustable top, it's clearly intended to be able to hold larger vessels. That is very clearly the point of the product.
It literally says on the label: "suitable or bottles, cups and cans." (Note that bottles comes first.)
OOS in my area (Canberra) and not available for delivery.
Now I will never feel the sensation of hot coffee on my crotch…Consensus seems to be that these are trash - has anyone found a good alternative? Cupholders in cars seem to be getting small while bottles get bigger.
I know someone who's been using one for a year at least and its doing the job
Although I paid about 10 bucks for an Aldi one and it's just one big cup holder with a base that expands when twisting so it can grab the car's cup holder and then accommodate a bigger cup, however I only bought it because I have an old hiace with the shallow cup holders in the back of the fold down centre seat that are crap and it did the trick perfectly
Edit: the Aldi one is identical to the Amazon basics one that's linked below
This one looks good and stable, but it doesn't double the cupholders as it takes one and offers one instead of 2 :P
I guess its more for the Stanley/Yeti/Frank Green type bottles
No it doesnt
And costs almost ten times the price. C'mon with that kind of money I could be waving around 20 bottles in my car!!
If you hang out until Aldi has them it's closer to 10 bucks
I have this and end up hardly using it One consideration is it can get in the way of gear stick depending on your car
My car has these tiny ass useless cup holders and I was just wondering the other day whether a product like this exists.
Just buy coffee Piccolo; that will fit.
"if the drink don't fit, you must acquit"
tips over not stable.
Ordered two of them. Thank you, "Tempting" - and thank you, OzBargain! π.
ordered two and received cancellation email as below.
'We're really sorry; we weren't able to source the stock for your order. We've already cancelled your order so we can issue your refund as quickly as possible.'
I just use a 50 to 100mm pvc pipe adapter
Got a couple these the other week. I found they aren't stable and tip over if not a tight fit into the car cup holder. It comes with foam pads but didn't help.
