EDEA Energy EnRG G2 3kW/3kWh Portable Power Station $1450 + Delivery ($0 MEL C&C/ to Metro When Buying 2+) @ EDEA Energy

Total Stock Clearance though shipping could be expensive unless you buy 2 or more. Has 15 A outlet sockets which I haven't seen often on these type of units. So in theory it can power things like welders and split system A/C.

EnRG™ G2 3kW/3kWh Portable Power Station! $1450 *Free shipping when you buy two or more

"Australian Designed" product for what it's worth. Never heard of this company, not associated and I am personally not ready to pull the trigger on something like this yet, just thought I would share the deal.

Looks like someone's science project. Stick some noname cells in a toolbox case with holes cut for outlets.

And as a result, it probably has better impact and vibration protection compared to those china brands like Anker and Ecoflow

    • +1

Not that complicated engineering wise but no idea why you're knocking it without a reason to.

      • +3

It's obviously a small volume product which they are planning to cease selling.
Could be great if the components are great, could be garbage if the components are garbage.
If you buy from a larger manufacturer you have the benefit of a larger installed base and track record.
Other comments say these guys have a good track record, which is good to hear.

Not sure why you're defending a box of unknown components without a reason too?

        • +1

I agree with your points, but I think he's simply disagreeing your original "attack". If you're someone who recognises waterproof cases it looks less polished, but I see real products "borrow" other products all the time if they don't want to invest heavily in custom elements.

I'm not defending them either, I don't have an attachment to this product.

          • @Banville: Yeah, I understand. It sounds like these guys are reputable, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
But I can buy a 2500wH battery on ebay from the cheap suppliers for $500 and stick an inverter (6kW peak!) and charger for a couple of hundred more, so I am suspect of unnamed components “reduced” from $5000.

FWIW, I don’t rate the ecoflow or Blueti Chinese made stuff any higher. But then I don’t want to pay for a brand like ARB or something which would cost $5000.
If these guys do stand behind their battery, it is a good deal.

            • +1

@mskeggs: The components for whatever system that is produced in Australia or Europe or the US are still likely to use components which are manufactured in China. You can't escape Chinese-made stuff nowadays.

I don't mind the newer Bluetti powerstations. Those launched in 2024 and newer are pretty good now.

I have one in my possession opened up if anybody has questions. No I didn't buy one.

    • What’s the cell configuration? Guessing the internals are all 48v? Such as inverter etc

    • Is it lithium or agm? Based on weight of 40kg I assumed AGM?

EDEA are a great company - they do a lot out in remote NT supporting Indigenous communities, and lot with defence. These units are quite good, and a bargain at the price. Perfect for welders and high-demand wired power tools, so they'll handle 'normal' loads like you would on a generator with ease.

Great to put extra 20km on Tesla.

  • From the manual: Under normal circumstances, the battery life is 3 to 5 years.

  • The EnRG G2 may not be shipped to a private address. It must be shipped to a business address or to the nearest Pack & Send store for collection. To deliver to a residential address incurs a $150 premium which we are trying to help you avoid!

    • Do you know how to get it sent to a Pack & Send store? Thanks!

      • +2

No clue to be honest i saw that on their website and pasted it here for info might be best to contact them directly.

  • That's a lot of grunt for the $. But its battery life seems short?? Is there a way to integrate such a battery into a household's circuitry? Say, from the (existing solar) inverter? If I sound ignorant and like a person who has no idea about electrickery, it's because I am.

    • +1

Not really with a unit like this, your rooftop solar will be feeding your inverter, and your inverter is likely not compatible with external battery storage unless specifically designed to be.

It would also likely not meet requirements for a fixed installation and 3kw is relatively small for a house battery.

Since its also a 220v output with no real information on warranty etc, i would suggest his is more for somebody that is happy to “tinker” or set up in a small off grid shed or similar.

      • Thanks for the advice!

  • shipping for me kills it. I don't need 2 unfortunately.

  • +1

Insane price for 3kwh of 240v.

  • By checking the images on the landing page, I found that the first few images are photoshopped.

  • +1

Honestly, that is an amazing deal in terms of wh per dollar.

Yes it does look like a bit of a DIY toolbox job, but others are vouching for the company. And there may be some advantages to the toolbox form factor. It probably wont be hard to replace and upgrade the lithium cells later down the track. Its likely a stack of prismatic LFP cells in a big sandwich inside the toolbox.

  • Based on the company I think it'd be a great product. The $/wh is great and a solid offering.

If I hadn't recently made up a have a smaller portable power station, I'd jump on this for sure!

  • +1

Do we know what is the warranty?

  • That's a grea price for 3kWh of batteries and a 3kW inverter. If only I had a use case for it …

  • +1

Really tempted to pull the trigger but there are just too many unknowns,

Warranty, age of cells, does it come with a charger or anything besides the bare unit, the 10A mains charger would take a long time to fully charge the unit, if it even comes with one, i really want this to be a bargain but the website just doesn’t have enough tech specs, these look like a custom version of https://rytonpower.com/product/rytonpower-br3000-portable-po…

There are videos on YouTube that give glimpses of internal construction if you search for RYTONPOWER

    • +2

Yeah really keen to get 2 but just not sure the cell and the warranty. It seems correct that it’s the RytonPower one because it even has that on the manual. Warranty probably is the only concern.

      • I'm thinking these are 16 series cells at 63ah, looks like they had one on a pallet on a YouTube video.

Would like more specs tbh, also a list of what our ships with. Charger etc.

Okay I did some research. This is a battery made in China by a company in Guangdong (广东日月潭电子股份有限公司). The company itself is owned by a Taiwanese company that is specialised in 12v batteries. So it means it’s likely to be their own battery cells.

I found the same product on Chinese Taobao, which is sold for CNY8410, which is around AUD$1900, adding GST it’s around $2100, so this price is definitely a good price. The product page can be found here: https://e.tb.cn/h.6gzZsTGqq55DxD8

The battery seems to be rated at 2000 cycles to 80%. You get an AC charger and a car charger with the battery. Warrant in China is 2 years. Not sure what it would be here.

Around 40kg if anyone is interested

  • Has anyone bought one and actually heard from the company?

    • purchased one late Friday and picked up today in Epping. The were extremely helpful and nice to deal with.

  • Any info on the warranty?

    • I asked about what charger it comes with and they replied via their online form,

"The G2 unit has its own standard 600W power point charger also a plug in cigarette lighter charging adapter.
So if you message and ask I'm sure they'll reply"

    • +1

I spoke to them when I picked it up today and the warranty is 12 months.

It comes in a large cardboard box and I have yet to unpack it. It weighs approximately 40kg.

The warranty is 12 months for those that are asking.
