Better than Kmart? At almost 10x the price I would hope so!

    • +1

      This is a genuine Zeroll…

      • -6

"ZE" yourself outta here JV …..

      • +1

Zeroll is American brand for those who like to boycott.

        • Of course it is. That's why it is so overpriced.

      • +1

        making your ice-cream 10x delicious

  • +4

I get 5 big spoons from Kmart for $1 and out ice cream :)

  • +3

No way is that camelx3 price history real. Over $1k for an ice cream scoop?

  • +19

The Aluminum Ice Cream Scoop has heat conductive fluid sealed within the handle. The Original Zeroll Ice Cream Scoop creates a bigger looking portion by eliminating compression, which gives you up to 20% more scoops of ice cream per gallon.

    Scoop-flation

    • +2

      Sounds like marketing hype !

  • +30

Still using the free Bulla one that was posted on Ozbargain ages ago

    • +1

      same, still going strong

    • +2

      Best ice-cream spade ever

    • same

    • Same!

  • +4

This is a great ice cream scoop and beats the shitty plastic one from kmart.

  • +1

    I miss plastic spoons.

    • +11

Found the guy paid off by big plastics

      • +2

It's all tactics to make products minimalistic. A ploy by Big Small to sell more less!

      • I miss fridges that lasted 30 years too.

  • +3

Great scoop. I got one after bending one too many spoons after getting a ninja creami. Sturdy, and the conductive fluid stops the ice cream from sticking as much. Depending on what temp your dishwasher goes to you're not supposed to put it in there. From memory I think it says 65 degrees. But it's very easy to clean, obviously.

    • +21

I got one after bending one too many spoons

Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead… only try to realize the truth.
      What truth?
      There is no spoon.

    • +2

I think the dishwasher issue comes from the dishwasher tablet being corrosive to aluminium coat. That's from memory from 2 years ago research

      • Looks like it's both. On their website it says not to expose to temps over 60, and that it's not dishwasher safe. And there's people on reddit complaining of oxidation and pitting after they put it in the dishwasher.

        • +3

You can't wash anything aluminum in a dishwasher. Problem for tenderizing mallets also.

      • Theres no need to warm it also. It you leave it in room temp water for a while it will function as intended.

      • This, the enzymes in the dishwasher tablets oxidise the alluminium coating and bye bye.

    • I got after market 4 cremi containers and a scooper for around ~$25 from amazon. This listed scooper must be good! 🤣

    • You bent a spoon on Ninja Creami ice cream?? Damn, what kind of ice cream were you making. I thought it came out pretty smooth after a couple of spin

  • +3

    have one, love it

  • +6

I purchased a $5-6 scoop from Aliexpress and it does the same thing. Not like buying this from Amazon supports anyone besides shareholders and exec pockets because it all comes from China anyway.

    • +6

Yeah Aliexpress Choice has reduced my Amazon Prime usage significantly.

    • -5

Don’t feel like lead and microplastics with my ice cream.

      • +9

        try 100's & 1000's they're tastier

      • +2

I mean Amazon/Kmart/Target/Big W etc is not better if you think that. Also a lot of things are drop shipped to Amazon from Alibaba at x5 to x10 the price.

  • +4

Still rocking my Bulla ice cream spade.

This is a Wirecutter (NYT) article about this ice cream scoop, if anyone is interested in learning more about what makes it so special. I don't own one, because I also don't purchase ice cream to be in my house (if I did, I would eat it all in one sitting, each time, and I can't afford to have that kind of caloric intake sitting in my freezer) but if I did, this would be my ice cream scoop of choice…

    • that one is just hollow and isn't filled with oil which is supposed to be what makes the OP one gooder.

  • +2

Cost of living crisis? What cost of living crisis. Put aside those smashed avocado on toast.. that is for peasants. Instead, spend over $20 to buy an increase scoop instead!

    • +1

      You know it's reusable right?

The avo toast… Not so much

    • +1

i tried toast, but it gets soggy.

      • Biscuit? How about SAO variant?

    • $20 for a scoop that increases everything sounds pretty good to me

  • -1

    You're paying for the name.

    • Bit more than a name, if you read the description carefully lol

  • +3

Have had this scoop for 4+ years, it's seriously great just don't put it in the dishwasher

    • Yeah, it looks seriously bad after doing that.

  • -3

    Bargains for billionaires?

Can we mark troll/joke posts so we can filter them?

  • +1

legend says that with this spoon, when you scoop air, ice cream appears

  • +1

I have the Zyllis - dishwasher safe. It's been excellent. $19.

    Is this one dishwasher safe?

  • I found this to leave silver marks/stains in the icecream after use. Anyone else have the same issue ?

    • +2

Did you ever put it in the dishwasher?

      • Yes.

  • Better be 317 stainless for that price

    • No- it is Aluminium, (with mineral oil in the handle).

  • +1

I just bought one from Coles today for $5 and not regretting missing out on this yet. Thank you for the effort of sharing for ice cream gurus out there.

  • Platinum coated?

  • +1

(1920s journalist accent) What a scoop!

  • What makes this better than actual dollar scoops???? This is looking like how much dumb and dumber can get away with mark-up on the simplest products

    • +3

If you're gonna get an ice cream scoop, this is THE one- it was designed in 1935 and literally hasn't changed at all since. There's a reason it's on display at MoMA's exhibit on product design!

The thick handle actually contains a liquid that conducts heat from your hands and transfers it to the scoop, so it softens the ice cream as you scoop it. Combine that sturdy aluminium build with that well-shaped scoop blade and you get perfectly shaped ice cream balls with minimal effort. I can attest to its effectiveness, I've used this quite a few times haha

    • -2

this reminds me of the overpriced screwdriver from that Linus tech trips guy… if nerds can buy his whiney high pitch voice it would sell out easy

  • +2

But $27 could buy you a lot of ice cream…😭

  • I have one of these and it is good but it'll skin you if it slips off rock hard ice cream up your hand.

  • nothing works better then my free bulla metal scooper with metal handle. :)

  • Has to be a million times better than the IKEA one which is ribbed along the surface so it grabs the icecream and doesnt let it go. Complete shiiite!

  • +2

can't wait to be that guy who makes small talk at their own dinner party about the quality and heft of the ice cream scoop they just bought

    • It’s the best feeling!!!

  • +2

Have a similar Zeroll scoop for years. Works very well.
Just don't put it in the dishwasher.

  • +1
