Jesus. That website is has so many red flags that I don't know where to begin.

  • How much just for the front windows on an old Jimny?

      • +6

The question is for a price, not an advert. You could at least give an approximate range.

        • +1

          Hi There,
Our pricing for full vehicle window tinting is a flat rate of $495 and does not vary based on the make or model of the car.
As mentioned above, we currently offer full vehicle tinting only—we don’t provide tinting for just two windows at ORIDON.
          Thank you
          Lucy @Oridon

            @Oridon:

we don’t provide tinting for just two windows

            why not?

      • +3

That’s a no from me then because my car is soft top and only has 2 glass windows.

  • +10

This seems more like an ad than a deal.

I've seen tinting services for the same price (mid/large-sized hatchback) with film that has a better TSER rating - their ceramic is only 54%. I would've thought it be at the 60% mark.

    • +1

yep this sounds like low grade film as I found this from a place I use

      99% UV Rejection
      90% Glare Rejection
      70% Solar Rejection
      75%/35%/20% and 5% Light Transmitted
      Carbon Nano ceramic
      94% Infrared Heat Rejection
      Scratch Resistant Dual Layered
      UPF 50+ (Cancer Foundation Approved)
Available in 4 shades + Clear

      • Wow, what's this film called/named?
I used F1 on my last car, was amazing.

        • not sure of film name/brand but got it done here

I wouldn't say these people are better than others as most I compared were using similar grade film. They use Gtechniq products for paint protection which is why i ended up there. Even Tint-A-Car uses good film but I used them before ceramic tint was a thing so not sure about them now. Both will offer lifetime warranty.

  • Can you do 96% VLT? I want to be Stormzy. https://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/24474340.stormzy-dr…

    • Kick it up a notch and just use one way mirror tint

      • won't install 20 or 15s?

        • +1

          Hi There,
In Australia, it is legal to tint all front windows using film with a Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of 35%.
For rear passenger windows and the rear windshield, a darker tint of 20% VLT is permitted nationwide—except in the Northern Territory, where an even darker 15% VLT is allowed.

  • hi does that include windshield and rear windshield area?

    • +2

I don't think it's legal to put anything on windshields regardless of tint % u less it's factory or on the top part only.

    • Hi There,
This offer covers all vehicle windows excluding the front Windscreen & Sunroof.

Why not just use sunnies or prescription sunnies?

      • Those too (got both and alternates between them). In fact 16 hrs a day of wearing spectacles, tinted or otherwise aren't sometimes not enough. Every little thing helps ergo a darker window tint as well. Lest I want to start wearing welding goggles in which I don't really wanna.

    Dodgy looking website ✅
    Only started 09/2024 ✅
Super long list of warranty exclusions ✅
    Typical sales jargon ✅

Not sure why anyone would risk their car with this over reputable local businesses?

    • +1

How do you find out when the website is started? Curious to know.

      • Google "domain registrar search" and use oridon.com.au (yes you need to get rid of the https://).

        Also I just noticed

"Registrant Contact Name: MotorOne Group IT"

MotorOne is a large body shop (not sure if franchise) network around AU that works with large (and often dodgy) lease providers. When I was doing up my lease my provider offered to bundle a no-name, no reputation ceramic coat and tinting product to my car as "part of the lease". It was going to cost $3K!

        (profanity) that!

        • Yeah MotorOne work with many car dealers as well just FYI

It was going to cost $3K!

You realise the lease company were putting a big margin into that…? Not just MotorOne's profits, you're paying your lease company profits as well

    • concierge ✅

    • According to the Whois data, it appears to be an off-shoot of MotorOne, a company who does a lot of this sorta stuff for car dealers

How much does of ceramic film roll for car costs

    https://www.polyfilm.com.au/premium-nano-ceramic-tint-film-3…

    Film needed by most car

Most 4 door cars require around 10ft of film, that is out of a 40x100" roll.

    Most tools $22.00.

I see a very very Handsome profit margin

    • +6

Well yeah because the labour that goes into the tinting is a pain in the ***, and no one wants to do it themselves.
So that's where most of the cost comes from.

    • +4

Tinting is an art form. Getting it done in one go on a car with moving glass, without bubbles or contamination? Good luck. There'll be plenty of film wastage.

I'm more than happy to pay for a good job on a car. Fixed windows (like in a home) are simpler.

    • What a stupid comment.

  • $500-$600 is like car dealer prices. Put that into perspective how expensive this is.

  • +2

I gave the concierge a call and Lucy answered.

According to this $495 is the everyday price.

    • -1

      Hi There,
The competition you mentioned from January was for our Darkest Legal Tint, which is currently available at a special price of $395 (down from $495) — a fantastic deal!
As advertised here, we’re also offering $100 off our premium Ceramic Tint, normally valued at $595. It’s a great time to upgrade your tint and enjoy the benefits.

with a nationwide network of installation centres and mobile technicians

Aka $250 for you and $250 for the random guy you picked on hipages.

    • A lot of contractors doing jobs farmed out by dealers don't even get that.

  • Anyone knows a good ceramic film that comes in 90cm wide?

  • Seems overpriced, I got my Tiguan Allspace done for $420 by Heinz at Tintopia Brisbane, he's a legend, knows his stuff and does an outstanding job.

    • +1

Yup Heinz is the bloke. Does great work.

  • Every day price so not a deal

  • want to get this done… will mobile technician charge more?

    • Hi,
Thanks for your comment, our mobile service is only available for fitment of Dash camera's.

These replies from OP are AI generated!! LMAO…

  • Man, if it was only called Oridion

  • Did the meaning of 'ceramic' change? My understanding of ceramic is stuff made from clay and simular material but I doubt that's what this is.

  • Seems abit pricey I got mine done all windows for $300. Rayno ceramic tint s9 series

  • Lmao, expired because OP couldn’t handle the comments?

    • Lmao, OzFreeAd is available again.

  • Another day, another OzAdvertisement instead of an OzBargain

  • Would it be weird i keep the back window untinted with the other windows tinted? just for vision

    • Does it matter if others think it’s weird? It’s your car.

      • i don't want to be noticed.

        • Plenty of cars from Europe have all the windows factory tinted except for the front doors and windscreen.

          Exhibit A

          • @MS Paint: That's not a good look.

          • @MS Paint: I think they’re talking about leaving the rear windscreen untinted

            • @mapax: I was just using this as an example that ilove won't be alone with weird tinting options.

  • Rip off. Hard pass.
