It's so funny how artificial the scarcity is.
So many people buying to "invest" or resell that it creates scarcity for genuine collectors and players of the tcg.
And so many people stupid or desperate enough to pay the artificial scarcity prices.
If people just didn't buy the stuff unless it was RRP or below, they'd be crashing in price.
The point is: if it makes money, then why not.
But I do feel for people (especially the kids) who just want to collect and play.
Long run it's not good for the tcg because it's essentially putting up barriers for the kids to start.
My hope is that pokemon international would take a long term view of this and take action to reduce scalping.

They already implement purchase limits. There's really only so much you can do.
It's pretty hard when the item is already so popular and they only have limited capacity to print.
@pharcyde: They could print the chase cards as promos and it'll all come crashing down for the scalpers.
