Ooft. Have been contemplating this as a new desktop monitor (I have a pretty deep desk so it wouldn't be crazy close). Someone dissuade or enable me?

    • I'm struggling a bit with my old 55" 4K TV as a computer screen. 42" would be good.

    • I have a 43" Hisense TV as my main monitor which I use with no problem on my 80cm depth ikea table. I'd love to get the LG but I just can't stand the risk of screen burn in :(

      • Is it good for TV as in living room?

I haven't really enjoyed the Hisense, it took some time to dig through all the menus to turn off all smart TV features (I kept getting Netflix popups reminders that it needs internet every few hours or so even though I've never used it). I also sometimes get random blank screens with my PC. Picture quality wise the colour is good, the brightness is good, the response rate is good enough for gaming. I bought in 2019 so I would hope they are better these days but personally i would get almost anything else. The ~42" is often the budget segment with all brands but this LG I would consider to be the cream of the top. But I would just hate to have the start menu and various game huds burned into the display, so if I was just watching TV and movies I would be all over it.

7000+ hours of screen time on my LG OLED C2 as my main monitor, no burn-in at all.

I also program on it, so there is text constantly up on the screen too.

I've been using 2x C2 42" as dual monitors on Dell arms for a couple years and will never go back after seeing what they looked like next to my previous monitors. No issues with burn in if you take some basic precautions after adjusting the TPC/GSR in service menu. I use dark mode for everything and MacType for clear text.

      • That sounds ridiculous and amazing! I’ve got one 42” but wanted more screen space. Got a picture?

If anyone wants to know. This is a perfect sized tv to be used as a monitor. Just play around with the scaling. Everything else so far has worked great. For the price it beats most monitors out of the park.

  • Missed out!

  • If you use it as a monitor
Does it turn on and off when you turn on the computer?

  • Bought this 1 month ago for 1260, good tv. Should wait, but was worried about oos.
