ANYCUBIC Kobra S1 Combo 3D Printer $823.65 ($775.20 with eBay Plus) Delivered @ Anycubic eBay

Following on from the Flashforge discounts, I went looking for some other printers. Looked at the Sovol SV08 but no deals on any of those.

This Anycubic deal then popped up in my search.

$775 for the enclosed printer with ACE fillament system (similar to Bambu AMS) seems like a good deal.

  • Any reviews on this vs bambu?

      • Ive watched about 4 videos. Seems like a good option for the price, some minor annoyances vs the Bambu counterparts but most say it's acceptable for the price.
One thing I must say is that it seems many of the reviewers were gifted the printer.

This is basically the case for anyone on Youtube that even mentions having a 3d printer…

          • @NigelTufnel: Good to know, thanks.
Im aware the PC part reviews are similar but it doesnt stop reviewers being honest. I'm sure its a bit different in the 3d printer market.

            • @starry001: Yeah, depends on the channel. Most of the case it is "They provided this free, but let me say whatever I want about the printer.", which is better than the alternative, but also leaves out the undertone of "…but if I'm too negative I might not get another one to review…".

@NigelTufnel: So do I buy one?

                • @starry001: I dunno… I have 2 printers already so not researching another. And the one youtuber that I do trust his thoughts on doesn't have any anycubic printers…
But anycubic in general doesn't have the greatest rep from what I understand, so there may be some niggles.

  • Bambu p1s with the new ams pro bundle is out

    • Yeah but $1469 not including shipping

    • plus wouldn't touch bambu with 10ft pole after the dodgy stuff they pulled

      • Tell me more?

      • I 100% agree!
I stupidly ignored the public backlash and got myself an X1 Carbon & AMS the other month. It printed well for about a week, and now I'm honestly lucky to get it to pretty much print anything. Nothing sticks to the bed, irrespective of the filament used, or how dry it is.
        So frustrating.

Had a similar issue with my P1S.

I put dish soap on it and scrubbed it with my scrub daddy. Let it air dry over night.

          Next day, everything printed beautifully!

Make sure you do the auto bed level as well. It doesn’t add much time to the job.

My filament, I should look after it better but I don’t. I don’t have a drier for it. I’m in Melbourne so perhaps the air isn’t as humid as other states so I’m probably more lucky that way.

But yeah. Cleaning the plate seems to be the most important thing to do!

          • @CereaL: Thanks for the hint. Will give it a go 👍

@sc00terMcTav: You can also use standard ammonia based windex. I give it a spray then wipe with microfibre towel.

        • +1

I spritz the build plate with 100% isopropyl alcohol and wipe down with a lint free cloth before every print.

I haven't had any adhesion issues since I started doing this

  • Heh, decisions, decisions!
I've been pretty much set on the P1S combo at $1249…..
BUT, the AMS2 Pro combo is now $1469 ($1 more expensive than buying the bits separately)

Prusa Core 1 unfortunately comes out to $1780 incl shipping for the KIT….and you'd vae to spend another $500 on the MMU3 - which isn't yet compatible with the Core1

Now there's a number of alternate multi-colour printers out….is it worth looking at the P1S again?

  • Cant seem to find any decent reviews on this. Most seem to be paid or sponsored. Does anyone have this printer and can share their experience?

  • This deal has now sold out. There are some bu dles with filament still.

    • Deal is back

      • +1

You can also get the printer without the colour system for $510.

That deserves a deal on its own.
