Is My Xiaomi Mijia Smart Kettle 2 from AliExpress Fake or Used?

Concern About the Authenticity of XIAOMI MIJIA Smart Kettle 2 Received from AliExpress

I recently purchased the XIAOMI MIJIA Smart Kettle 2 from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007024738262.html?spm=a2…

However, the item I received raises some concerns:

The kettle appears dirty, which makes me question whether it’s genuine, second-hand, or possibly a fake.

While the box and white wrapper look new, the wrapper lacks the warning text shown in unboxing videos like this one (at 1:20): https://youtu.be/_KCAemvc4l0?si=Ad2QWB3DU7epowla&t=80

📸 Here are the images of the item I received:

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on verifying authenticity or getting support from the seller would be appreciated.

    Possibly.

The XIAOMI MIJIA is spelt correctly on the aliexpress listing. That is the extend to how I can help LOL

So many places in Australia to buy a kettle that you know won't start an electrical fire, will be clean, will be genuine, will be easy to return if issues. FFS. Why?

But they don't have 24H Intelligent Temperature Constant samovar !!

    • I bought the Philips 7000 from Amazon but had to return it because it was poorly designed. The lid wouldn’t open properly, and the boiling would stop intermittently. I thought I’d give the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Kettle 2 a try instead.

      Lesson learned.

So long as the kettle's not toast.

Buying on Aliexpress is a joy (I love it!). What are you hoping to achieve? A refund or discount? If you’re not satisfied, raise a complaint on the app or site, add the photos, and engage in the dispute process with the seller. They probably won't budge, but after a while you can involve Aliexpress and that has always worked for me

    • I have initiated the return because I’m not willing to risk my family’s health.

Sorry but that went out the window the second that AliExpress was brought up.

Don’t get me wrong I love AliExpress, but only for things that won’t kill you or catch fire

1800w, do you have it precariously plugged in via a travel adaptor? Wether or not it's fake will be a moot point when your house catches fire.

    • Yes, I have initiated the return process.

Would've been better off going to kmart and getting an AS compliant kettle with warranty.

    • Yes, lesson learned.
