        So there's your first mistake… Ozbargain isn't a test environment or a free marketing platform for you to leverage. If you have a genuine offer / deal that stands out, post it and reap the rewards. As mentioned above, 10% is pretty standard in terms of first post promotions / new customer signups, if you want results, give us an exclusive offer.

      • Report as "Invalid negative vote" if you feel it is so egregious and out of line.
      • Go over to the "Site Suggestion" sub-forum and make a suggestion based on your "feels" that people should not be able to neg vote any deals

      10% off is pretty paltry, it's standard for new email / member signups for a website. OP did say they're "giving this website a go"…which isn't what it's about. Is it neg-worthy? Not for me personally, as new users usually don't get how it works or see it as a free way to advertise, but obviously it's frustrating to see the same thing over & over.

          Whose side are you on? Without the voting system obviously shit / bad deals can't be called out for what they are and users warned. Without the ability to downvote this just becomes a cesspool of fake accounts mindlessly upvoting like it's Google Maps. Clearly tribalism is affecting voting on certain deals but for the most it's pretty objective and transparent.

          Also, the irony of someone likening people who downvote to cancer whining about "negativity" isn't lost.

            Unfortunately this neg system is flawed, abused and gamed by cancel culture and misguided people, which seems in abundance.

            You will also notice I don't neg comments just because I disagree with them. everyone is entitled to their opinion, and no one should be silenced just because their opinion differs.

                  @Captain Cheapskate: I agree it's a bit harsh, but this isn't a free advertising platform & merchants don't deserve sympathy or special consideration because they happen to operate in a competitive market. We have so many slimy characters trying to take the piss & scam or trick users, or just spam their garbage product here, so there needs to be robust vetting of deal posts.

      We have our prices listed on our website for each product. I agree its a service but we dont quote job by job. The pricing is there for all to see.
