Hi @WatchNerd, We don't normally discount but I will have a think about what else we can post here.
Is this really a bargain? Looks like a post to boost SEO ranking.
Hi @Chelseadmfc, We are giving this site a go to see how it goes.
So there's your first mistake… Ozbargain isn't a test environment or a free marketing platform for you to leverage. If you have a genuine offer / deal that stands out, post it and reap the rewards. As mentioned above, 10% is pretty standard in terms of first post promotions / new customer signups, if you want results, give us an exclusive offer.
10%…
Not sure why people are negging this.
Maybe because they do not consider it a bargain as they can get it cheaper elsewhere ???
I don't see them saying that. It's that the op is only offering 10% off. What a horrible offer of them, to save 10%, how dare they.
I don't see them saying that.
If it's not the cheapest, then it's not a bargain…
Deal Posting Rules:
POST a clear title including price and location.
DECLARE if you are a merchant or have some relationship with the merchant.
LINK directly to the deal. NO Adult websites.
CHECK competitors prices before posting.to save 10%
You are not saving 10% if you can get it cheaper somewhere else.
These people negging OP are just feels so entitled.
Yes, this is OzBargain. We are entitled to bargains…
Beee dooo beee doooo… Look out, the volunteer Comment and Voting Police; Special Victims Unit has arrived…
These people negging OP are just feels so entitled
This is your "feels". If you dont like "negs", you have a few options.
- Report as "Invalid negative vote" if you feel it is so egregious and out of line.
- Go over to the "Site Suggestion" sub-forum and make a suggestion based on your "feels" that people should not be able to neg vote any deals
- Jog on. As the Comment and Voting Police volunteer unit always says; "If iT's NoT FoR YoUsE, WhY aRe YoUsE eVeN iN HeRe!!?1!?"
- Visit any number of the new Nintendo Switch 2 RRP posts and complain over there how we should all make our own NS2 and sell them at 50% off.
Y’all start your fcn business and give us 50%
Oh, so now you have set the bar… So if it isnt 50% off, it isnt a deal? You should neg the post based on your own guidelines.
Ffs, this is not charity.
Please show me where anyone said that any business posting here should run it as a charity… Please. Any comment that states that this, or any other business, should run as a charity? No one is suggesting that.
It's a "bargain" website that should be about posting the best deals, not a cesspool repository of "advertising" all because a neg vote gives you a "feeling".
And your analogy is crap and has zero relevance of what is even going on here…
Visit any number of the new Nintendo Switch 2 RRP posts and complain
They were ahead of you on that one, not quite 50% off a self made console, but still whinging about people wanting to see bargains on a bargain site
Look out, the volunteer Comment and Voting Police; Special Victims Unit has arrived…
Where ?
10% off is pretty paltry, it's standard for new email / member signups for a website. OP did say they're "giving this website a go"…which isn't what it's about. Is it neg-worthy? Not for me personally, as new users usually don't get how it works or see it as a free way to advertise, but obviously it's frustrating to see the same thing over & over.
Those that are negging, What is it that drives you to be so petty, jealously?
I don't see anyone negging the posts with 10% off red balloon gift cards, or 10% off cashback. They're perfectly acceptable bargains apparently, but 10% off party hire isn't because it was posted by someone in the company? Lol You neggers are so lame. What is it that drives you
The Deal Posting rules…
and the prompt in the comments to:
"Share your thoughts!"
I don't see anyone negging the posts with 10% off red balloon gift cards
They would if you could get them cheaper elsewhere…
was posted by someone in the company? Lol You neggers are so lame.
a friend/relative/colleague of yours perhaps? 🤣
Those that are negging, What is it that drives you to be so petty, jealously?
To those in the Volunteer Comment and Voting Police Operation Taskforce, what drives you to be so petty and butthurt that you feel the need to instruct others on what they do with their negative votes. Are you trying to "manipulate" voting by shaming others on how they should vote?
Use the report button if you feel there has been a violation of the "voting guidelines".
Are you trying to "manipulate" voting
Are you trying to "manipulate" people sharing their thoughts?
Use the report button if you feel there has been a violation of the "voting guidelines".
Being a bit hypocrital here ????
Sorry, I read that as "hypothetical"…
Not instructing, just highlighting a fact. Neggers are lame. End of story.
I liken neggers to cancer cells, they feel the need to spread negatively, hate, passive aggressiveness etc at any opportunity. But if that's your thing, you do you
just highlighting a fact
Ironically, it's not a "fact", it's just a "subjective opinion" and nothing more. And we all know what opinions are like…
Neggers are lame
Nah, self appointed voting and comment police are "lame".
I liken neggers to cancer cells
I liken the volunteer comment and voting police taskforce in the same way. They feel the need to spread their Karen'ness around onto people operating within the community guidelines, with their childish scolding, any time someone wants to use their votes.
I like to think of the volunteer voting and comment police as more like the anti-EV pillocks that get all butt hurt over someone else filling their own car with electricity and not feeding huge profits into petro-chemical company coffers.
But hey, if that's your thing, you do you.
@pegaxs: For the record, I like EV's, I think they are great commuters. So reaching abit there aren't you? I can tell your a toxic person by the way you try to imply I'm "anti-EV" which is neither relevant or factual. The fact you would do that further illustrates pettiness.
For the record, I like EV's
Didn't say you didn't. I said your "actions" are "similar to"
So reaching abit there aren't you?
*a bit. And also this is coming from the person who used "cancer cells" as their analogy.
I can tell your a toxic person by the way you try to imply I'm "anti-EV"
*you're. And I didn't imply that "you" were anti-EV, just that your "actions" were "similar" to that of people that get butt hurt over what "others" do with their own negative votes. "Analogy".
The fact you would do that further illustrates pettiness.
Again, you are confusing "fact" with "subjective opinion". Just saying the word "fact" doesn't make something a "fact". What you should be saying is "my feelings", which, again, are still not "facts".
gamed by cancel culture
Ope! There is it… those damn "wokies" ruining everything with their *checks notes* "down votes".
everyone is entitled to their opinion
Oh, the irony… of abusing and chastising others about how they vote and trying to silence them and ridicule them into not voting or removing their vote and not allowing them to be "entitled to their opinion"…
and no one should be silenced just because their opinion differs.
Says the user trying to silence people for their "opinions"… Grow up.
@pegaxs: I'm sorry, what? I stopped reading where it said pegaxs.
Whatever it was you said, I'm sure it doesn't change the fact your lame for negging a fellow human and Aussie just trying to ahead in life like the rest of us.I'm sure it doesn't change the fact your lame for negging a fellow human and Aussie
Lol… I didn't even vote.
Also; *you're
@pegaxs: Well if that's the case, *you're OK then, and would like to take back everything you found personally offended by.
everything I said was directed to the neggers.
Whose side are you on? Without the voting system obviously shit / bad deals can't be called out for what they are and users warned. Without the ability to downvote this just becomes a cesspool of fake accounts mindlessly upvoting like it's Google Maps. Clearly tribalism is affecting voting on certain deals but for the most it's pretty objective and transparent.
Also, the irony of someone likening people who downvote to cancer whining about "negativity" isn't lost.
@Ham Dragon: Agreed, there needs to be a system to combat scam & spam. I don't think this falls in either category.
Unfortunately this neg system is flawed, abused and gamed by cancel culture and misguided people, which seems in abundance. You will also notice I don't neg comments just because I disagree with them. everyone is entitled to their opinion, and no one should be silenced just because their opinion differs.
@Captain Cheapskate: How is anyone silenced? Comment voting has no impact on a user's site experience, it doesn't accrue & isn't recorded. Obviously it is misused by people who simply disagree with an opinion, but you have to be pretty thin-skinned to care about that sort of thing.
@Ham Dragon: Thin skinned or not, I find it very lame to neg a fellow hard working man/woman and Aussie small business at that, who is harmlessly promoting their small business and offering a discount. Party hire isn't a lucrative business, I should know. It's hard work.
@Captain Cheapskate: I agree it's a bit harsh, but this isn't a free advertising platform & merchants don't deserve sympathy or special consideration because they happen to operate in a competitive market. We have so many slimy characters trying to take the piss & scam or trick users, or just spam their garbage product here, so there needs to be robust vetting of deal posts.
Im not negging or +, but i see the point of negging this post. This 10% off is not off a product, its off a service that the op can see fit to charge whatever they want at full price.
Next we see 10% off a plumbing service.
We have our prices listed on our website for each product. I agree its a service but we dont quote job by job. The pricing is there for all to see.
10% isn't really that much for your 1st post on Aus number one bargain website. Any actual bargains?
