Best Way to Use Points to Fly to Europe in June?

We're planning as relatively last minute trip to Europe for 2-3 weeks mid june. I have a heap of Qantas points so hoping to get some ideas on the best way to use them e.g. Payiong for a flight to to Singapore or malaysia and getting a connecting flight into Europe with points.

Countries we're thinking of visiting

Spain
UK
Italy
France
portugal
Switzerland

and possibly morocco given proximity to spain and portugal.

Thanks

  • Best Way to Use Points to Fly to Europe in June?

I think the best way is online.

Best way is to use points to pay for the whole return ticket.

    • Sometimes difficult to find points flights from Aus, and easier from Asia

2-3 weeks is not long enough if you want to visit all those countries

      It's plenty of time.

  • Qantas releases rewards in batches and not according to any schedule.
We had luck by transiting through India (Bengalore - but not June).

      That sounds unfortunate

Departure date & city? Number of seats? Travel class? How many points is a heap? I too have a heap of points: 1.8M

    • 6th evening onwards from Sydney - 2 seats in economy. I have about 220k which is a heap for me but deifnitely not compared to yours

      • It's actually possible by flying home via JFK. Two seats in economy for $2456.56 but you'll need 264,800 points so can you borrow some from a family member?

  • That is peak season. I would put it off if I was you. The costs will be very high and the weather in Spain a nightmare.

  • If you're fine with economy then there are plenty of options available for June. You just need to play around with multi-city. Here's one option that will get you to Paris

    • Definitely good with Economy. thanks for that, hoping we can leave from 6th evening onwards. I found a good option for about 70k to Heathrow but they only have 1 seat.

      • That is pretty common, especially if you look at Business and First.
