I would disagree entirely. People don't base what phone they purchase based on a flaw of a particular model, that mind you was almost 10 years ago.
Same thing goes for apple, the iPhone 4 with it's antenna issue, iPhone 6's bendgate etc. don't necessarily deter people from jumping ship entirely to another platform out of pure spite, especially if it didn't actually happen to them.
Samsung has a tough job shrugging off Note7 reputational damage but I would think they would invest more than any other phone company to make sure it doesnt happen again. A repeat would be catastrophic for them.
Most people think of Apple of failing (EV after 10 years, while Xiaomi has the winner with <3y that the Ford CEO cannot give back ;)

No magsafe snap magnets. You kinda have to align it yourself. Im not sure if it will work for Watch 7, i think that uses a different charging standard.
so simple to just put the phone/watch over the centre & they will happily acknowledge the contact. Mag yes, but not safe for your wallet with the walled garden ;)

There are plenty of off market magsafe cases available, and even cheap chargers. Samsung themselves sell magnet case so makes sense for them to also have magnet wireless charging.

I have the powerbank I linked btw, it comes with a super short USB-C cable.
