  • Good deal! Although can be had for $249 on a ton of sites, $199 on special… still , $149 vs these prices is great!

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed one.

  • OOS

OOS, but can get this one for $115:

Not ceramic, but eco mode has similar energy management

    • I was tempted by the 50% discount and feeling salty for missing the ceramic heater, but have you seen the reviews on the breville heaters? Shockingly bad for most part

      • I hadn’t! Thanks for the warning!

    • Bought it. Apparently it's so on clearance that DJ had to ship one from WA to VIC 🙃

  • Damn too late. I need a heater for my room for winter!

  • Doesn’t say OOS, but I can’t add to my cart :(

  • I recently bought a Curved Far Infrared Panel Heater for about the same price because it’s also cheap to run. I use it more like an under-desk personal heater.

Are these actually cheap to run, though? I wouldn’t exactly call this De’Longhi heater slim! 😆

The only heaters that are "cheap to run" are reverse cycle air conditioners. A 2400W fan heater, bar heater, oil fin heater and infrared heater all emit the same amount of heat into a room (2400W, or $0.72 an hour at 30c/kWh). If an aircon is out of the question my preference is oil fin heaters because they are relatively safe with no moving parts or excessively hot surface temperatures. An advantage of infrared heaters is that you can feel their warmth from far away because the IR light travels across a room better than hot air

      • I agree with all these types having the same CoP (1w of power = 1w of heat). However, you can gain efficiency in other ways
        * e.g. An electric blanket also has a CoP of 1, but because it only heats you, you save a lot of power
Likewise, there are still fundamental advantages of different types. Oil Heater takes longer to heat up, but you can touch it. IR travels further. Ceramic element + fan is more targetted, so its more like an electric blanket.

(I upgraded to RCAC last year, energy bill 1/2'ed).

  • Damn saw this on the way out thought i'd grab when I got back…well you know how it goes.

These are death traps. My dad was a firefighter for 27 years and refused to ever buy them.

      Please explain

      • +2

His dad was a firefighter I think that explains it all….

All these heaters are as efficient as each other. The Kmart fan heater would perform just as well. You need a heat pump to get greater than 100% efficiency.

    • Yeah was about to jump in and say everything as a CoP of 1…

  • just grabbed the last one from Doncaster. So you might want to try your luck at your local David Jones.
