I've been eyeing for a portable pressure washer for a little while, mainly for weekends car wash and clean up some areas around the house.

Never own a WORX product before, the brand have mixed reviews on the internet (usually about battery life) but at $99.95, free shipping and free returns, I'll give it a go.

  • Yeah battery life not so good after a while. The pressure washer is ok for the car but not really that powerful for concrete around the house etc. A good feature is that it can draw water from a bucket when you don’t have a tap close by.

I got the whole range last year when it was all like $20 each on clearance at Supercheap but the pressure washer wasn’t I bought for roughly same price from Worx Ebay

      $20 was a good price.

I normally keep an eye on the bargain section at Bunnings store but might do the same at Supercheap!

Please save yourself the trouble and don't do it!

I did - and it was bad.

    • What were you using it for? I get that these things are underpowered. Thought it might be good for rinsing and degreasing engine bays, bikes, things like that, when a tap isn't always close by.

used it to wash my car tyres etc - not really upto the job !

For context, I have a pressure washer fetish - currently sitting at 9.

        • Lol..thanks for the reply. How many PSI is your biggest unit?

Too late, I hit the trigger and bought it -_-

Thanks anyway and we'll see if it's good enough for me or not.

It does the job just fine.

  • I am so confused and need someone experienced to help me out. I have water tank. It has a tap, but the pressure is too low to water my garden. I cant find anything that can attach to tap and creates pressure for watering the garden. I dont want big big motors but something portable, battery or compact solution that is strong and I can do myself. I bought ryobi batterily submersible, didn't like it and not powerful. Then i bought 750w submersible pump ryobi, still not like it, jo good pressure and doesn't turn off when you shut off thewhen you close the hose. What to do?

Should be similar to water pressure, but not ruining the grass. But should be for watering garden

    • Is it the siphoning effect? is that why water is still coming out?

If so, googling should provide some solutions and fittings to help with that.

Another option, is to get small submersible water pump (400W) . (it usually accepts garden hose fittings)

Other thing i'll ask is why not just put a rainwater tank pump?

They also make submersible ones for the tank

It makes it a lot easier long term.

if you ever turn on the tap it will automatically kick in

    • If you want mains pressure you'll need a constant pressure pump, big and bulky. If you want portable, probably something like the Ryobi R18XTRP10 would be closest for general watering, though it still won't be mains pressure level.

I got this Worx Hydroshot and it's good for cleaning a bike, not really enough, flow wise, for a car. Good pressure for spot cleaning.

      • Not like then mains, of course. But something enough to water garden can reach corners and enough water

    • If you're in the Ozito ecosystem, something like this would work well for you. No running of wires or anything and just plug a battery in when you need to use it.

  • There's an attachment you can get to use a bottle like a coke one under it.

I've got the Aldi (Workzone/Ferrex) one, using an Ozito battery adapter.

It's great for smaller tasks like spraying outdoor spray around the house, Roundup/Weed&Feed on the lawn, foam when washing the car. It isn't an equivalent to a mains pressure washer but it is much more portable with a bucket of fluids when doing highly mobile tasks.

I am thinking this might be good to clean the fins on air conditioning units on balconies in apartments, that don't have access to water etc.

I’ve tried using it a few times, but it’s always been disappointing. It never effectively sucks up water and is incredibly difficult to use.
