Good 65" TV Recommendation Ideally Less than $1000

I have these 3 options. Planning to buy one of this.

Came to Australia last year. Haven't been watching TV for the last year. Now, moving to a new place and thinking about buying a TV. Looking to these options. Won't be watching TV much. Definitely not daily, few times per once or week. Maybe will watch some Netflix time to time. Planning to buy a PS5 sometime later to play some gamer casually. Probably few games over the weekend.

Don't care about super picture quality and all the new tech. Just nice enough viewing experience and stuff.

Hisense 65" U6NAU Mini-LED 4K QLED Smart TV [2024] : $1032 ( $163 off )
Hisense 65" Q6NAU 4K QLED Smart TV [2024] : $895 ( $93 off )
TCL 65" C655 4K UHD QLED Google TV (2024) : $995

Is it ok to go for "Hisense 65" Q6NAU 4K QLED Smart TV" for $895 or better to invest $150 more and get the Mini-LED one ?

And one more thing,
do you think any of these will go on sale for the EOFY ? Because I don't need the TV right now. Moving the house July only. Just thinking about buying it and keeping it in the box maybe as I'm still living in a shared house.

Planning to buy a PS5 sometime

pay a bit extra and get the C755 instead of the C655

    https://www.billyguyatts.com.au/tcl-4k-qd-mini-led-google-te…

    better picture
    better sound
    144Hz VRR

    • agree

    • do you have one

      • No, I have the 715… My parents just got the 755, but they're not really into gaming…

        • not really into gaming…

          why not

          • @Wiadro: too busy…

            • @jv: ask them to not be so busy

              • +1

@Wiadro: They're too busy to listen.

                • @jv: speak louder

@Wiadro: They'll turn off their hearing aids.

    • This is the one OP.

      • Thanks. But was wondering whether I should invest extra $300 given that I won't be watching much.

You're on a website dedicated to saving money, and everyone is telling you to spend extra to get the TCL 755. That should tell you everything you need to know about the quality of that model.

    • Thank you.
I have a $1500 Gift Card from JB Hi-Fi. So, I'm planning to buy from them.
I won't be spending too much time on TV though. Hense the chaper ones.
Anyway, I'll think about this. Thanks again.

And isn't this "Hisense 65" U6NAU Mini-LED 4K QLED Smart TV" Similar to TCL C755

I would take the TCL over either of the Hisense models.

As jv says, the C755 would be the best option if you can afford it - otherwise get the C655.

Those TVs you have mentioned are all 2024 models are currently being cleared out. Now is a good time to buy. In the case of the TCL especially, stock is already running out. Many sizes of the 2024 models are already sold out.

    • sizes of the 2024 models are already sold out.

yep, that's why I posted the billy guyatts link… all the cheaper deals are sold out…

    • Thank you
TCL was my first choice. But then saw the Hisense Mini-LED going cheaper (just around $45 more than the TCL normal one). That's what I was wondering

Hisense has its own crappy smart TV implementation, unless something has changed very recently. TCL uses Google TV.

    • Yea, I've seen many reviews pointing this out

      • +1

The Hisense smart TV stuff sucks.

  • EOFY

Maybe better deal as you mentioned July. EOFY promotion is on June. Even better if you could get a free big TV from Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree for example (check it out). Previously I saw a free TV from marketplace that is actually expensive (Sony TV), only because the owner is moving out.

    • I'm fine with waiting until June, if there're usually good deals at that time.
I think it'll be extremely hard to get a big TV free from FB marketplace though

    1. Good tv
    2. 65"
    3. Less than $1000

    You can only pick 2

    • 2 and 3 then :D

  • Stay away from Hisense - the TV hardware is great, the software (Vidaa) not so much. Had a Hisense Q8, great TV, frustrating af software

I have a TCL C815 - $300 off marketplace, C745 - $300 of marketplace & C855 - $700 off marketplace and honestly you're getting a lot of TV for the money, would happily buy another.

As @JV said, stay away from the 6 series it's trash. C7xx and up is the only way to go, you'll thank yourself for spending the extra.
