  • How it compare to julius marlow brand same style?

JM is trash. This is a poor man's RM. Decent quality.

How long would a RM pair last ? Says wearing it for 261days/year

      • +3

I find them comfier than my RMs, but they wear down a lot faster. I think 5/6 pairs of these vs one pair of RMs is actually a pretty good deal.

        • Agree, switched from RMs to HP 'Harbour' boots after many years and haven't looked back. I find these wear a bit harder (the sole, definitely) and at a fraction of the price. Much, much comfier to wear for long periods on your feet too.

      • Thanks

Rm isnice, any got a pair?

  • how do they go in sizing?

    • I'm a US13 for everything but in Hush Puppies a US12 (I wear the Harbour boot linked above).

  • I usually go 1 size down compared to running shoes as they are a big make/leather stretches

  • Synthetic molded welt

    so it is good.

I've had 2 sets of these. For the price, worth the buy. I get about 18 months out of them with 10KM walking a day.

Someone with a shorter walking commute should expect closer to 3 years I'd think.

    • Damn bro 18 months with 10 klicks a day is excellent range.

    • why you wear office shoes for a field job? XD

    Great value for this price.
I've got a pair of dark brown ones which I paid full price for (needed them in a hurry).
They don't get worn much but they're definitely holding up much better than anyone else I've bought in this price range.

  • Not the lowest price, but reasonable good quality. Trouble is when people ask if these are RM.

Oh what a coincidence, I just went to DFO earlier to compare my pair with RMWs and Blundstones to see if it's worth the upgrade. I'm not a boots expert but I thought I'd give my 2 cents.

RMW and Blundstone boots are obviously better built. This is most evident in the cushioning; these Hush Puppies boots feel less bouncy and give less support. Walking in them felt a bit unnatural, for lack of a better word. Doesn't help that mine is a bit too big so my feet slides in them a bit. Definitely order half or one size smaller.

These boots do have an advantage (and possible disadvantage?) in that they are pliable. RMW and Blundstone are much stiffer and the leather puts pressure on the top of my feet when walking. That'll probably be gone after breaking in, but the Hush Puppies are pretty much spot-on from day one.

In the end, I decided against the upgrade because I just don't wear boots often enough to justify shelling out 200 for the Blundstones and 500 for the outlet RMWs. I bought these in Taupe Suede for 60$ so no complaints there. For this price I think it's still pretty good, but make sure you size down as mentioned.

    • Do you use Blundstone steel toes? I'm an office warrior who needs to occasionally step onto the work site and considering something that I can travel with so I can do sites and offices in the same pair.

      • I only tried the soft toes earlier, unfortunately. You might also want to look at Redback and Mongrel to widen your options. Roadhouse has all three brands for you to try.

      • I have these Yakka safety boots and they are so frigging comfy. They look pretty good with jeans or work cargos (maybe not a suit!) and cheap enough to keep in the car or the locker at work for when you need to pop onto site. I was in mine 9hr per day, mostly on my feet in datacentre & warehouse type environments for 6 months, loved them.

      • You don't want to keep a site pair separate and just change on the odd occasion you need to? I would hate to wear my clunky site boots with all the mud and gunk into the office. But maybe that's just me and my circumstances.

  • It even goes down to $87 with a promo code came from nowhere.

  • Nice price. Also 10% cashback at CashRewards and TopCashback.

Can also vouch these are quality (for the price), very comfortable and last.

Only bad point is the toe does scuff quite easily compared to some others in this price range in my experience. You'll need a brush and decent polish for maintenance, and some shoe resin if it's a deep scuff/scratch.

  • Size guide here but it seems to make no sense. https://hushpuppies.com.au/pages/size-guide

According to this I'm a size 9 US, but my RMs are 11.5H US and every other shoe I own is 11 or 11.5…

the deal that I cash in on every time it comes up

Why do you cash in on it every time it comes up? Do these fall apart real quick?

    • Maybe it only comes up every 30 years?

    • 😂😂 typical OZB reaction to a good deal! Naa… just copied and pasted the description from my previous post for this item from a year ago

      • As a typical OZB, I like my boots to last more than a year or cost at least 50% less than this.

        • My pair lasts me over a year. My son’s RM on the other hand have had a hole in the sole in just about the same time.i just don’t think you can compare. As long as you get a comfortable pair reasonably priced and you reckon looks good, I go for it.

for sizing of these Im a little lost, I have a pair of the Hush Puppies Carey's in a size 10 which I got from Myer a few ago and they fit great but dont say us or uk just size 10.. On hush puppies site you can choose us or uk sizing when buying them.. Can any one comment by anychance?

    • +2

I just went with the consensus which is a size down from my normal size. I figure I can send them back if need be.

    snagged a pair

  • This is crazy, i just saw a youtube video about how this is the best boot ever:tm:

I bought these from Amazon previously (open box discount $56 of course), but found them very uncomfortable on my feet. I couldn't walk more than 5m without pain. Not sure if I got a dud pair or what but everyone is always claiming they are comfortable. The sole has completely fallen apart after several home fixes now though.

    • Maybe you got the wrong size

      • I mean possibly yeah, they seem to fit quite well. It was just super hard on my feet for some reason

  • Thanks a lot OP. Got mine delivered and speaking as am wearing it today 😁.

Very comfy and yes got a size down.
