90% off 1 Year Uber One Subscription @ Uber

340

Took a ride this evening and afterwards was having a look at the app when I noticed it said 90% off an Uber One subscription.

Cost is $9.60 ($0.80/month) which is charged up front. I got offered this after having a free 6 month membership of it from Mastercard (I cancelled and did not renew)… assume it’s targeted.

Only showed up in my account section of the Uber app as a banner.

Looks like it's a targeted promo as my app doesn't offer this.

    • Thought as much. Have you had an Uber One subscription before that’s now lapsed?

I’ve had 6 month free subs before. I was offered one month free and took it.

Don't do it again, cook your own food and save money, also get healthy lol

    • Ubereats delivery groceries as well.

10% off Uber rides is where it’s at.

Combined with 10% off Uber gift cards.

        • Does this work for Uber eats as well?

          • +1

@cerealsmok3r: Yep. If you buy an Uber GC it works for rides and deliveries. If you buy an Uber Eats GC it also works for rides and deliveries. The accounts are the same and use the same “wallet”.

Why ride Uber with 10% discount when Didi is up to 30% cheaper?

        • in my experience Didi drivers cancel more often

        • I check both…

      • Skimming the credits whilst using the corporate function is where it's at 😉

Uber one occasionally has spend $40 get $30 back on Uber groceries. I've found it to be the best value subscription i've got. Although I have treated myself to takeaway a bit more with the other offers I get (spend 30 get 15 back GYG etc)

    • Cook only lentils and chickpeas they’re cheaper. Never eat out, it’s too expensive. Why go on holidays if you’re paying rent/mortgage at home?

Thanks OP, I’m lucky to be targeted for this offer too. I did used the 6months free membership from Commbank Yello before and did not renew.

Only got offered this when cancelling uber one membership - 90% off 3 months starts on 28 Mar, 2025

    • Also got this, at least saves me a few dollars

The $12.50 Hoyts tickets are a pretty good perk of One

  • Why does every company feel the need to have some premium subscription service? Oh I know, to make more money from people, probably started out being touted at corporate marketing conferences and C-suite shindigs as being more “value add to grow your revenue stream” or some other business bingo lingo. Even Coles has one. They’re a supermarket.

    • The subscription should run at a loss of they are used e.g Coles and Woolies 10% off will more than pay for the subscription and you get the other perks with it.

But once you subscribe to one, it's hard to consider going to the competition is the point of them.

At Woolies I have 2 10% off every month via phone plans and everyday extra 4% from GC. The Coles near me is closer and twice the size of Woolies, a far superior store in every way, but the subscriptions forces me to visit a Woolies at least twice a month.

For uber I haven't used uber eats since I got the free 2 years of dashpass from Amazon promo, DD Also seems to have better deals and easy to get 10% off gift cards.

      • DD often charges a certain % of the service fee in every order you placed if you are holding a dashpass.

  • Got 70% off. Boom.

Keep in mind, Uber One is worth less and less with time. For UberEats customers, it used to give $5 credit when an order is ridiculously late. Not anymore. They quietly shut down the 'perks' originally advertised.

  • Thanks worked for me under 'Promotions' in the app

They should make uber one free permanently-
Pay for Uber One for what - overly priced items for most of restaurants and then add convenience fee for any delivery + if restaurant is far, there is a delivery fee.

So, not surprised if uber wants to reduce the membership cost by 90%. It’s a win-win situation for these companies. ”Heads I win - Tails you lose”

IYKYK how to get free uber one using different method

    • Could you explain?

  • I'm a current (paying, previously free 6 months twice) Uber One member and I was offered this as a full-page ad when I opened Uber Eats just now. Great value as I'm ordering often enough to pay for Uber One anyway.

I can see a banner as well on my Uber Eats account page, it says the offer is available if you switch by May 6th.

    • Any promo code us non-targeted losers can use?

  • If you already have One, when you try to cancel it, on the 3rd "are you sure?" screen, you should get offered 3 months for 90% off.
