Recent Increase in Spam Calls

I've recently been getting an increase in spam calls. Today I received a spam call from a US number but he had an Indian accent, so most likely it was from India.
My concern is that he knew my name, which means my name and number must've been leaked somewhere.

I have dual sim on, both numbers are getting spam calls, one number gets more than the other.

I've also recently received 2fa emails from 2 seperate websites. I'm assuming that my passwords have been compromised and access they couldn't access my account because of the 2fa.

Any tips on what I can do? I really don't want to change my number but if it needs to be done I will.

    Who is your provider? You can always add to Do not call registry.

      Would that change anything though? These aren't telemarketing calls. I actually went through one of them and it's your well known Amazon, tax refund, PayPal scam calls.

    It could be ubank trying to call you about a required increase in monthly deposits.

    Atleast the type of phone you are using (or provider) … Is being proactive.

    They are being flagged/blocked … Rather than you having to answer those calls. Both apple + android have really stepped up their game as identifying spam calls/numbers.

    Perhaps that is reason why seeing Soo many.

    Also - since you are an OZB person … downside of entering comps == increase of spam calls too :(

    a workmate has his voicemail setup in such a way - The caller thinks they can't be heard … Caller hangs up, without leaving a voicemail.

    I also have similar.
    Family thought it was unusual at first … But saves having 10+ voicemail msgs (whereby it's someone in a room offering scam/spam deal).

    I always advise people against consuming certain content on the internet, nothing is free.

    There was a 0-day exploit recently that targeted people watching free sordid content which had the main purpose of generating stealer logs and draining crypto wallets.

    I usually ask what they are wearing, and do they consider it sexy.
    Then I tell them , in my deep voice , that I'm wearing stocking and suspenders…they usually hang up hahaha

    Just hang up. Don't confirm you name, if someone asks your name and they don't have an accent ask who is calling.

    IF I do pick up a spam call I will answer with "xxxx Police Anti-Fraud Dept, Sgt Jones speaking can I help you"
