  • How laggy is it? My eufy is useless.

it's probably your slow internet and/or router.

i don't have the eufy, but i have ring and tapo doorbells. both don't lag, but i have 1GB home internet with wifi 6 tri-band AX6600 router. i also have a bunch of cameras everywhere. alexa in every room including bathroom, garage, laundry room, etc… I get no lag on anything.

you probably need to upgrade your internet with more speed and a better router.

    • using eufy 4 years and happy user

Just an FYI unlike the more expensive Tapo D230S1 doorbell, this doesn't come with a matter enabled Tapo Hub.

The battery is also not replaceable and is embedded into the doorbell. You will have to dismount the entire doorbell to recharge the battery and to access the microSD card.

With the D230S1 you can buy a spare battery and swap to mimise downtime (because it can take up to 5 hours to fully charge a completely dead battery)

Info is good, but you make a twice per year activity sound much harder than what it is. Not having a front camera for 10 hours per year is perfectly acceptable.

It can vary depending on weather conditions and how often things trigger the motion detection, but I have to charge my battery once every 2 months (the marketing claims 180 days battery). The drain rate is around 2~3% a day, so only after 3 weeks my battery is down from 100% to around 40% usually

        • true - does depend on conditions

mine drops of an average of about 4% per week, but any sort of party that sees a lot of foot traffic go past will hammer 2-3% in a single evening

    • Fair points re inbuilt battery but it's also an extra $50 for the spare in addition to D230S1 being almost 2x the price.

D230S1 has a better camera and sd card is stored in the hub inside. But the reviews about visitors mistaking the camera for the bell is throwing me off. Don't want someone breaking my doorbell accidently.
