    Fosi, wosi, was an Amp,
Fosi made my ear buds dance,
If Fosi made my ear buds dance,
    He wasn't Fosi, was he?

    … Bought yesterday's amp deal, too 🙂

  • Wonder if amazon would take my creative x4 back this far along….

Definitely don’t recommend this if you’re using it with the ps5. The volume level is terrible with it. For context some usb dac amps will only do about half the volume available with the ps5 and unfortunately this is one of them.

    • I 100% disagree. I’ve been using mine on ps5 for about 3 months and definitely recommend it. I have to limit my headphones to 70% otherwise it’s too loud. I find it helps in warzone for footsteps pretty well for a cheap dac amp and analog EQ.

You do make a good point though with PS5 nerfing most dongles to 50%, I’ve had ugreen and apple dongles and both were so quiet they were unusable (same iems and headphones setup) so buyer beware re most dongles and ps5, in fact it’s the reason why I purchased the fosi k5 pro which has been great.

Out of interest do you have it plugged in directly to ps5 via the usb c? Volume knob way up? Happy to discuss setup if you haven’t returned it yet.

      • Yeah that's a weird one. This was a few months ago now at least so maybe they've made a revision or updated the firmware since i had one. I tried it with IEM's and full size headphones and even at full volume it wasn't usable. And yep had it connected directly into the usb c port. Appreciate the reply and update though. If it works for the ps5 the price is pretty good! I'm now using a SMSL DAC/AMP on my ps5 pro and it works amazingly. Powers my over ears very well.

  • These any good for regular PC user looking for a slight edge in audio features + quality.
Currently using ALC1220 onboard into an old pair of Audio-technica ATH-AD700

I have a small collection of 24/96 FLAC as well but I'd be BSing if i said i sat at my PC to listen to it.

I'm also open to a compact device for mobile listening on a phone with no 3.5mm socket (Pixel8A), never looked into mobile high res audio, maybe this could do that job also?

A little time poor to research options right now but wouldn't want to miss a bargain.

You won't really notice a difference IMO, maybe a lower noise floor

I'm also open to a compact device for mobile listening on a phone

And you want to carry this thing around? Just get one of the plenty of USB C DACs out there
