Another excellent game that’s on sale from Big W. Price beat it at Officeworks :)

Me too! Tried to get it running well on my Steam Deck but eventually went back to my Switch.
So bloody addictive. Farming parts for gear upgrades easily kills a day
Relatively good price on an amazing game.
…but it's always a bit depressing that 53 bucks is a "deal" for these overly price-anchored 1st-party Nintendo titles.
Nintendo is still charging like it's the 90s, as if 80%-off Steam sales, Gamepass, Epic freebies, etc haven't massively advanced how games are priced, to the benefit of the whole industry.
Especially for a game on a last-gen system running on a decade-old mobile phone processer, that barely hits 960p at 30 FPS. It literally has to be emulated on a PC to be played at a 21st-century resolution and framerate.
Honestly it's why I buy Switch games physically like this, and am more open to digital PS5/Steam purchases since they're discounted a lot more and don't break the bank.
I've traded back so many of these switch carts (especially thanks to EBGames and JB's 2 for 1 pre-order deals) that it mostly makes up for the inflated markups.I'm just locking in this copy of ToTK for myself and waiting for the April direct to tell me whether or not some of these will be playable at 60fps upscaled on the Switch 2; if they confirm that, then I imagine a lot of these Switch 1 cult classics will shoot back up in price and won't be discounted again anytime soon :O
To be fair, Nintendo first party are some of the highest quality games. The value proposition isn’t as terrible considering that.
As for hardware , it’s quite amazing what they can do with such weak hardware especially where the general trend in the industry is to ignore optimisation. However, it can only go so far, a mid cycle hardware refresh would have been great.
I disagree. This is a Triple-A game.
Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are also Triple-A and don't get prices reduced much either.
Edit: just noticed you have a neg - it wasn't me.
Almost all AAA games go for 75% off at some point in the first 6 to 18 months after release on Steam. MS and Sony stores? At least 30 or 50% off. PC gamers regularly buy the top recent-ish titles for 30 bucks or less. GTA V, Control, Bioshock remakes, Outer Worlds, and dozens of others were literally free on Epic. Most of the AAA games I own on PC were 5 to 10 bucks each.
So no, being AAA has nothing to do with it. It's really only Nintendo 1st party titles that never get big discounts. That's how it's been for many years now.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Switch owner and longtime Nintendo fan, but Switch is by far the most expensive console if you include the price of 10 games or so (unless you always buy for full price at release on every system, or never buy the Nintendo games that are the whole point of owning one).
Interesting, since when has OW sold video games?
As long as the receipt is vague and non-descriptive for tax expense reasons.
Great deal for a top three Switch game, masterpiece.
Considering the release price, this is an absolute bargain.
If you've got a decent PC, definitely emulate it through Yuzu. It's objectively better playing it at 60FPS and 1080P/4K. Put in 150+ hours with no issues of note.
Of course, would always recommend to own a legit copy of the game before doing so, as game backups and emulation of such are perfectly legal :)
since when does office works sell switch games? :D
I just picked up playing TotK again this month after a year hiatus. It’s amazing
