  • 2x 300 what?? sounds like a lot!

    • -1

I think it means each channel can theoretically output up to 300 watts of power to each speaker.

      • +4

That number is very hard to believe.

Looks like it's more like 40W into 8ohms in realistic usage scenarios which is a lot more plausible:

        https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/f…

        • +4

The included power supply is 160 watts, 2 x 300 watts is impossible.

      • +1

Maybe the old “peak music output” meaningless drivel. Not saying it’s a bad product but that claim is laughable.

        • It varies with power supply and speakers. To get close you need the 48V PSU driving 4ohm speakers.

Though even their own power chart only shows 259W.

    • +2

These are Chi-Fi watts, so take all their claims with a grain of salt.

Chinese Hi-Fi manufacturers always overstate their figures. They are never honest watt figures and usually sound quality falls apart at higher volumes too, just my personal experience with other Chi-Fi amps (I don't own this model fosi).

Bought this for $129 in May 2024. A great unit that can power large speakers and sub. Bluetooth connection is seamless. And the manual bass / treble control helps give streaming audio more (insert appropriate wanky audiophile descriptions). I dont Bluetooth connect it to the TV or media player for video so i cant speak to any lag issues…. but the RCA connection has no issues.

    • I agree - I bought mine for the patio speakers - bose ceiling freespace 40s - and its bloody fantastic for them!

      • +1

Yeah, I agree. It's a good unit. I drive a pair of old school speakers in my shed and use the pre-out to drive another Fosi driving another set of Energy speakers. Good value clean little amp.

I do use with Google Chromecast with GTV and can confirm no lag issues with bluetooth.
My biggest grip with these are
      - No BT security so if no device is currently connected, then anyone could connect, neighbors and all.
      - No remote control included or capability.unless using BT app which can be controlled via connected device.
      - They run warm even when idle consume 7w power.

Strange as when blasting out music on Krix Bookshelf speakers barely consume more than 9w. Amazing as a fair bit of grunt. I can even run them off a 20000 mAh 18v/24v capable powerbank for 10 hours and only use up 20% capacity. I'd have never expected that. Handy as can take speakers on stands out to garden and use via powerbank if no power source nearby.

Great units. I purchased with the 48v power supply. By default comes with 32v. FWIW, Gives a little more warmth/boost with extra power but doubt most would notice unless important to you?

Powerbank used = Older Comsol LP200 which has Laptop Output: DC 12-24V (65W Max). Works well

    • Also agree - have it driving some Polk Signature S20's and it copes effortlessly. BT is great. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

$65 last time and I didn't pull my trigger in time :(

  • Shows as $79 for me

  • I also find it hard to believe that this unit can "power large speakers and sub"
How many watts per channel RMS is this? As if it's actually only 40watts per channel into 8ohms. it's not enough at my place.
P.S.why did I waste my money buying an Audiolab 6000A Amplifier….lol

    • It only has output for 2 channels (L & R) so I'm also wondering where does this "sub" connect to?

      • +2

AV receivers usually has a sub preout, you can use this amp to power your passive sub.

    • +2

The active pre out on the rear (3.5mm) can connect to an active subwoofer. I got a mono 3.5mm to rca cable and run it that way.

I love my fosi v3 and v3 monos. Drive my B&W pm1s beautifully. Different products but fosi make great gear

    • literally just got the v3 to replace my aiyimaT9, driving KEF Q150, love it.

  • It's this price every other week like your Colesworth specials

The version with grey volume knob is now $103.99 less 10% = $93.59 on the ebay Fosi Audio Factory Store:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/204865873786

Same 32V 5A PSU as the Amazon one.

    • btw, I ordered one of these about a year ago with the grey volume knob and it came with an extra orange one in a separate box (in an oversized box taped to the main box, I thought it was the power supply).

  • Can you connect multiple of these together in order to play music on multiple speakers?

    • You mean one source to many speakers? Not via bluetooth or without some extra equipment. If you used something like an Echo as the source for each one you could group them, but again don't think that would work over bluetooth, only if using a digital source like Spotify etc.

      • That's right. I had planned for the source to be my iPhone playing Spotify via Bluetooth. Happy to buy whatever is needed to make it all work.

        • I'd see if you can pick up some cheap second hand Echo Dots or Google Minis. If you want to line out to the amp go with Amazon, Google doesn't provide it on theirs. The Dots do have it but I think they removed it on the latest gen. Both can still bluetooth out to the amp.

As far as I'm aware you'll need Spotify Premium for Amazon, Google will sort of work with free but no song selection etc so really need Premium too.

You can then create a group(s) of your smart speakers, and set up Spotify on your Amazon/Google account. Rather than bluetooth out from your iPhone you would just tell Spotify to play on that speaker group directly. You can use your phone to control playback but the smart speakers will stream from Spotify directly.

Audio distribution gear, can't really provide any examples but can be pricey, and may even eliminate the need for these amps as many of them have powered amps integrated. I'm sure there are multi line level out distributors out there, maybe even with bluetooth in. Something like would really only work if all the amps are in one place though, you don't want long runs at line level.

You can also get dirt cheap bare amplifier boards with line in and bluetooth from AliExpress (ie) which you could connect to a Dot/Mini. Not going to get as clean a sound of course, and beware many of these shout in Chinglish that "the bluetooth, is connected"
