If there's ever a time to avoid buying gift cards, it’s during this Coles promotion. 10x Flybuys points only gives you the equivalent of 5% off, which is pretty poor when Coles often runs offers like 20x points or even a straight 10% discount. By skipping this underwhelming deal and not buying gift cards, we might be able to send Coles a message that shoppers expect better. I have a feeling we'll be holding off on gift card purchases for a few more weeks yet…
