Best Mobile Phone on $29 Plan

Is Samsung Galaxy S 2 from Virginmobile still a best deal on $29 + $5 plan?

It has 3 months FREE access fees.

Any other alternative in same price?

I would seriously consider buying the phone separately (many deals get listed here). In many cases you come out ahead, particularly if you are not set on a specific phone. Obviously any advice will depend on your usage and requirements.

EDIT: So that plan is $15 more than bring your own, for two years (and you get an extra 1GB data for BYO). Even if you just took the BYO plan and never found a better deal and never changed you are paying $360 for the phone. Take a look at this phone and compare:

EDIT2: sorry, $255 after 3 months free, still hardly the deal of the century.

    • I see a lot of advice for buying phones separately, but my experience is that plans heavily discount the phones. Even here $255 is better than the $390 + delivery from Kogan. If you get it cheaper than this, sure, go for it, but added to the fact you can pay this off over 2 years instead of one big amount makes this even more attractive.

I'm not convinced buying phones separately is really that good of a deal any more?

      Regards,
      Ed.

  • have a look at the HTC 8S from Virgin or the Xperia S (Vodafone)
