Why do they not put number pads on these like microwaves?

Default for timer is 20 minutes, so it is 18 button presses to bring it down to 2 minutes for hot cross bun.

  why not just hit whatever default for the appropriate temperature preset (Eg, my airfryer, not this one, has a preset for 180 18min / 200 ° 20 min etc ) - and then just stop it at 2-3 min?

  Its in 2 separate compartments so no. You could have asked this question on any other air fryer besides this particular design and it would have been ok

    Depends on the size of the chook. I'd eyeball that anything smaller than 1.5kg could fit.
