Discovered this accidentally looking for a pre-paid Telstra SIM for our upcoming west QLD road trip over Easter since Optus has some gaps enroute.
Usual $39 / 55GB 28-day prepaid SIM for $13.
15GB + 40GB activation bonus. Supposedly the next three recharges also 55GB. Unclear if these recharges would be $13 or $39 (I only need it until the end of April so I don't care).

It's not really about the data. It's more about being contactable and the ability to make emergency calls to family and friends when needed. I never used any of the data and only having 110 minutes of calls and 140 texts is more than enough. It's not a plan for someone who makes a lot of calls.

good offer, unfortunately for me i missed this the last time it came out, and this time it's a bit too late as i had to move off my post paid plan last month.
Ended up moving to the $74/year version of the prepaid casual, but this would've been a far better deal if you activate it for the 6 month casual plan.
The 6 month casual plan is also on sale at $13 if just having Telstra reception to receive calls is important as opposed to Vodafone or Optus or even a reseller using the wholesale Telstra network.
