eufy S340 Rapid Battery Drain - Anyone Else?

I have two Eufy s340 security cameras which started experiencing rapid battery drain on Sunday.

I charged them up fully yesterday, and in less than 12 hours they have depleted by more than half. Minimal events during this time.

Given both cameras started having the issue at the same time, I thought I would check if any other s340 users are experiencing the same issue?

  • It could be the wind, an insect, a bird or something else triggering them to wake up and record. Do you have it set to record motion or just people?

    Yes, i only have the one at front of house. 4 days ago the battery started to degrade from about 80%. Gave it some charge from a power back yesterday afternoon. Got to 25%. Has made 2 detections overnight now at 9%.
    Has been a solid camera up untill this point.
    Would not be a year old yet.

      I've managed to sort mine.. went to the data usage settings on my android phone, opened the settings for Eufy and disabled 'allow background data usage'.

      It appears my app was communicating extensively in the background with the device (direct connection, not via homebase).

      Not sure if it will be the same for you..

  • Check the app logs and see if there was a recent firmware update on the cameras. There could be an issue where it is lighting up the IR LED's constantly or holding the camera open but not recording or the new firmware is incorrectly reading the battery capacity or something.
