    It's a state by state thing. Gel blasters are legal in QLD but illegal to buy/use in most other states I think.

    Most laws over here surrounding toy guns relate to the appearance of the toy itself and the projectiles it shoots out. You can pretty much own any kind of nerf blaster and mod the crap out of it so long as it looks like a toy (bright colours, unrealistic shape) and it doesn't shoot out things like bb pellets or metal.
