ECLIPSE Tools - AUTO Centre Punch - EC-65/171R Black is at an all-time low of $17.68. It is part of the Big Smile Sale Deal. 0% was claimed at the time of deal submission. It was shipped from Amazon UK. It is much better quality than the Supercheap Auto one I used to have. I can't justify getting a 5x cost Starrett one for occasional use.

    Because the better Starrett asks for $20-60 more than $75.

      I paid top dollar for the Starrett and honestly it was a complete waste of money. Rusted despite never been wet, and the mechanism and strike wasn't as good as a cheap $20 one i got.

    Even many of the Starrett models only rated around 4.5. You can't get anything triple the price has better quality than this one.

  Had 1 of these supplied in my tool allowance as a 1st yr apprentice (in 1973). Still use it 52 yrs later, has never mal operated or failed - ever.
  ECLIPSE Tools has been a leading UK toolmaker for ever. I would not waste the extra on Starret gear just for the name. Personal opinion only.
