Don't really see their products go on sale that often (apart from free trials etc).

Wonder if they're losing customers with the new monthly price increase.

Adobe Stock Drops as AI Monetization Concerns Weigh on Investors (3 minute read)

Adobe's stock dropped over 4% despite reporting strong first-quarter earnings as investors were unsure about how well the company could make money from its new technology. Its outlook for the next quarter and full year was unimpressive. Analysts and investors are watching closely to see if the company can turn its latest innovations into real financial growth

  • Haha, yeah righto. /s

Their help info talks about monthly subscriptions but I can't see the option, only annual subscriptions with monthly billing - that you can't exit before a year is up without paying a penalty - unspecified amount.

    • yeah they got me with this when i signed up for an edu account - cheap for 1 year, and then moves to full price which i don't think was clear when i signed up
when i tried to cancel after i didn't get a renewal email and noticed the higher monthly charge, they wanted me to pay out the rest of the year so 70 dollars X 11 months) which was ridiculous

someone managed to move to a lower plan (i only used LR and PS anyway) thankfully

    • You can switch to a different plan like the photography one, pay the initial month then you can cancel it and get a full refund to avoid the early cancellation fee. I just did it the other day. Otherwise they were going to charge $300+ for cancelling early

  • wow they truly are a rip off lol I can buy a full license of DaVinci resolve for 500 bucks and I OWN it and even if you bought photo editing apps that are as good as photoshop it would still be less than the subscription of adobe for 1 year, and again unlimited updates and OWN the software license. Adobe take the piss out of you all and you all get sucked into it.

    • Yes it is wild…
Paint Shop Pro is also very good.
I find it more intuitive, but I went to a JASC supported school, so I'm used to it, It could be exposure bias.

      • I used to be an Abobe fan when they used to sell there products for full license but the minute they removed that all bets were off.

    • Did you end up finding out how to monthly subscribe without committing to a yearly plan?

  • Outside the AI features in Photoshop you can find alternatives free and 1 time payment elsewhere for every Adobe Product.

Wait for Affinity studio goes on sale a lot and Da Vinci Resolve is a winner.

    • Would do affinity studio but I use Lightroom a lot for organising my photos off my camera for long term storage as well as short term editing. Maybe if it has a free trial but with over 2TB of photos and videos already imported in Lightroom I can’t imagine it’d be easy to switch.

Did see photoshop elements before though, much difference to regular photoshop? It’s one time purchase for 3 years I think
